Well, if you have the time, could you expand? :giggle: It's not my intention to paint my opinion as the only one and I'm always interested in hearing other people's opinions, so give it a go :legend:

I agree with a lot of the stuff you've said, but disagree with other points. Overall a very good read! :applause:

Well, with some points I agree, with some I don't, but it really was an interesting review, as it actually isn't the way how I see the album, and that's why it fascinates me.

I obviously disagree with several key points

Very nice, I read it all :applause: I haven't given ARTPOP's overall arrangement very much thought so it was cool to read this.

Please do  It's one of my favorite songs on the album :flutter: I'd give it a 9 if I used grades.

Maybe I should write my grades in there :gum:

Just a 9?!  No.  :crossed: No forgiveness for you.

Well, I'd disagree with Fashion!, but probably only about the disappointment part. You see, I agree that it musically doesn't really fit in with the rest of the album, probably because of the flow, but it still is a great 70's disco track, in my opinion. The track gives a big feel of nostalgia and it kinda makes you think of fashion not as a business full of skinny girls, c-----e, s-x and other sins, but rather as way to express your own self, something that is rather posh, yet innocent. The song itself, to me personally, feels like a glamorous, yet a fun and maybe a bit, erm, how do I say... old(?) couture. It feels like a reunion of a rich family, it feels like a chill and sunny day in the Old-town of Paris and it makes you just so darn fancy only by listening to it.

Also, Fashion! is like a relief after that intense and hyperactive Donatella, it kinda brings the whole subject into a contrast, yet the songs are basically about the same thing - fashion. One is about the egocentric, stressful and a sinful lifestyle, and the other one is calm, slow and old-fashioned song about a happy life of rich people, who, well, enjoy shiny stuff, at least in my imagination. :haha:

When talking about the song musically, it also rather fits in on the electronic scale as well. After the bright and a colorful first part, the song starts to build-up into an electronic ending, obviously a great transition to the upcoming Mary Jane Holland, as the last synths of Fashion! and the first ones of Mary Jane Holland fit quite well together.

I don't know, you know, this song can't really be a disappointment for me as it never was meant to be an intense, emotional masterpiece in the first place. It's just a sunny and a laid-back song, put to ARTPOP in contrast to Donatella and maybe as a track to make the transition to Mary Jane Holland a bit smoother. And notice how the last part gets more intense and that sunny feel from the song suddenly disappears and that happy innocent rich life suddenly turns into a VERY sinful life, I mean, the 2 next songs are about d--gs... :spin:

Anyways, this will not change your opinion about Fashion! in any way, but, well, you asked why I kinda disagree with you, and this is my own point of view :emma:

And I actually kinda like the cover for ARTPOP, well... kinda :awesome:

It was interesting :flutter: It didn't change my opinion, but I will listen to it differently the next time I give ARTPOP a spin ;)

And I actually edited the part of the cover, because I didn't really make clear why I said it, so now it reads:

"not because it's ugly, but just because it's like whut"

I still can't believe that cover grew on me so much :smh:

It was hard :smh: I love the song and it was actually my favorite when I listened to ARTPOP for the first times. I probably would've given it an 8/10 if it weren't for the combination of the disappointing outro (in my opinion) ànd the fact that it seems to slow down the ARTPOP journey a little bit too much.

But when the song comes on, I still dance it to it like I'm the most flawfree, classy, badass b---h who's ready to wow the world and slay the lessors with whatever sparkle I put on everything I'm wearing :flutter:

Meh, probably mentioned it a little bit too much. Lemme edit it :rip:

The Fashion! shade

It even GREW on you? Like, you said you still hate it :deadbanana:

And it's funny, because I used to actually almost love the cover, but now through time it downgraded for me so darn much :toofunny: And it still remains my favorite artwork of Jeff Koons ever :rip: But I suppose I never ever got kitsch in the first place, so that doesn't matter :ohwell: All I know is that it makes normal people either disgusted or indifferent, so way to go Koons, now even you can't make a product with your own made artwork on top sell millions, like you always do :rip:
