Popero22 8
The first time I listened to The Edge of Glory I KNEW this song had to be a single and it would slay the charts and get to #1 in a heartbeat. I also thought the GP would chew it like candy and would become one of those iconic songs where you hear it on Delilah and years and years later on. But On the contrary, it only got to #3 here in the US, didn't play much on the radio and it only has 75 million views which is relatively poor compared to her other videos. Why is that? I'm surprised the song wasn't #1 in ALL countries lol...what's your take on it?
Titzlol 607
I wonder that same thing tbh, TEOG is a maserpiece. Not just saying that because Im a Gaga fan, but that song is amazing

Dean Winchester 197
The thing is the GP isn't predictable which means a song being radio-friendly doesn't necessary equal it being a smash hit. :)
SISTERV 3,887
I think because Gaga is a very visual artist and that is how people like to discover her music, and because the GP expects this from her, that TEOG didnt do as well bc its such an underwhelming video. This is why DWUW didnt do that well. When it comes to Gaga...no video/visuals=a loss in popularity
Pop Art 1,773
I think Judas kind of dulled the momentum of the era. If The Edge Of Glory had been the second single, I truly believe it would have gone #1.
Marco 731
The video. If that flawless song got the video it deserved, teog could've been bigger than BR.

Mecano 1
You should thank Judas and GaGa (her fight with the director of the video).
Batwings 12,865
I can't speak for other locations, but I know in my part of the U.S., the song was played CONSTANTLY on the radio and was pretty huge. And I live in the Deep South where people really aren't that crazy about Gaga. The same was true for You and I.
Alchemist 0
Didn't the promo single scenario ala DWUW ruin its chance for a higher peak?

Now, they're not that interested in her videos 'cause they started to be less appealing.
HANZ 4,380
I think Judas kind of dulled the momentum of the era. If The Edge Of Glory had been the second single, I truly believe it would have gone #1. as much as I love JUDAS this is true, plus a better music video would have helped A LOT My Favs = Lady Gaga, Janet Jackson, Ricky Martin, AKB48
Popero22 8
If only gaga released TEOG as the second single -_______-. The song is indeed a masterpiece and tbh, I personally think is her best song to date. I'm just shocked to see it's poor performance overall. This DWUW delay is kind of bringing me flashbacks from TEOG video let down. Gaga seems to always have problems with her management at the worst time!
