Would the original AURA have smashed as the first single?

Yes.

But Applause did pretty good tbh, most of my friends prefer Applause to Aura.

I still think that if the release date stayed Aug 19, Applause might have beaten Roar. It's just that with all the bad comments, that she tried to steal Katy's hype and etc, I couldn't see Applause going to N1. And it never went N1, but it won some of the GP back.

I wish they would've kept the original date too...I think everything would've been a lot smoother.

I think it would've been very successful on the radio. The demo was rough, but in a good way. And the chorus... When it leaked I listened to it nonstop at least for a week.

Der Meister

It would, I remember they were playing the demo the day after it leaked on the radio all around the world.

*Radios would have been forced to play it for the first month for the sake of it being Gaga's 1st single and being high on iTunes.

*Maybe

Bellatrix

(Either version of) Aura would have slayed as a first single

I remember reading all the positive comments when it leaked :emo:
