I really hope, above all else, Gaga does not take the "fans" advice and be "more commercial". The reason I became such a major fan was the fact that even though she made catchy pop music, it was heavy in terms of the material, multilayered and experimented with genre.

In the longterm, it doesn't matter how many number ones she has. Number ones aren't want cement your place in music history. Look at the Billboard charts over the years and see how few artists' names you recognize...

What are you talking about?

Heart beats just like a cherry soda?

A melodic verse that sounds like DITD?

Did I miss something? :laughga:

Allowing the fans to decide singles is dodgy. We vote for our favourites en masse, not the most commercial/logical options.

We saw that with BTW. Marry The Night, Scheisse and Bloody Mary were ahead in the polls, but clearly she/her label knew that You & I was a better move and they were right. I don't like Hair much, but that makes more sense than the above (far superior) songs.

If you did the same poll with TFM, Dance In The Dark would win...but in reality Monster and/or Speechless probably would have made better follow up singles.

It's only going to be viable if they pre-select the singles and let us decide the order via polls.

Born Brave

I think that ARTPOP as a whole overall will sound a lot like Feed Me's "Green Bottle".

Xesar Aügüs†o Viana – In Colombia she played & sing the next single for 2 minutes to the monsters in backstage!! It's a rap about how her friends changed after she became famous ... and said that she concentrated all her fury in the song

Why do you think Monster would have done better? I'm curious

Just a gut instinct. I prefer DITD, but I feel like it may have been a MTN situation where the song just went over peoples heads.

Monster would have been a safe, radio friendly hit with it's solid Gaga/RedOne formula and stutter hook(s). She has the Gaga weirdness to it, but it's also a "party song". As long as the video didn't scare people off, I don't see much to prevent it slaying steadily a la Paparazzi/Alejandro.

I would love this, but then we'll know what all the singles will be and speculating is half the fun!
