What do you guys think of 'bonus tracks'? I don't like deluxe editions...I think the album should be the album. No alternate versions. I hate it when an album is released and there are like 17 tracks and only four of them are good. That's what I like about TFM. It was what it was. I know there was a deluxe editions, but that was just the Fame tacked on. I hope the 4th album is a nice, tight, 9-12 tracks. No filler, no bonus edition.

You have to keep in mind that Gaga herself made all of the songs for the standard edition of the album and that her label wanted the deluxe edition and chose BJ+AF, TQ, and FOHL themselves to be the bonus tracks. So, at least we know that Gaga puts the proper amount of work into each song regardless.

My Little Phoney

The Queen is the only filler imo. BJAF belongs in my top three of best songs from BTW and FOHL makes me extremely happy.

Nah, BTW > TFM

And she doesn't need to be revisiting stuff. She needs to keep on moving forward

I just want her to do something good, and new...

IMO, the decay theme in #4 will be psychological, not public - like Britney's breakdown, but seen from an inner, twisted and subjective perspective - which would explain the hole "Private in Public" concept: while spiraling down in madness/pain/anger, she has to keep the beast inside very well hidden from the rest of the world, to avoid it breaking through and hitting her from the outside. Though she has already explored the "outer beast" theme with TFM, the psychological view of the "inner beast", a prelude to the outer one, could give this next album a hole new feel and interpretation of the human decadence. That would give her wide field to play with human mind, besides working with the duality of reality and fantasy (hiding in fantasy to keep safe from reality, which could be comprehended as an effort to keep the beast locked inside) and other possible themes mentioned in the OP. If in TFM monster she dealt with the social beast (the public and the media eagering to destroy her), in the #4 album she will confront "The Mind Monster".

I think that's too reaching and cray-cray, but I needed to tell someone and get rid of this burden lol

I would like that, a lot. If thinking of it in an 'inner beast' way, then it would be a great segue from BTW to album 4.

I like that. "Inner Beast". If OP's prediction is right, more psycho-sociological, then HOLY **** I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE READY.

I just want to expand my opinion from the earlier thread. :spin:

I'm hoping for dark themes and lyrics, contrasted by light and upbeat music. In my opinion, it mirrors the decay of an icon theme. They present themselves so beautifully and happy on the outside. On the inside they're rotting, "decay" really is the best word to describe it.

I also hope for the album to have a somewhat psychological focus. Britney Spears has been mentioned a lot, but she really is a great example. Her breakdown was so public, and we all watched her fall apart in front of our eyes. I believe that kind of mental anguish brought on by the pressures of the media would make for very interesting songwriting. I wouldn't mind a sort of criticism of the media, either.

The more I flesh this whole theme out in my mind, the more certain I am that Private in Public is the album title. It just makes sense. That's what happens to these people; they sacrifice any shred of their own being to the media, and not by their own will.
