Americano 31,061
I'm almost 21 and everyone I know loves Katy Perry etc, just because you're older doesn't mean you need to listen to a new kind of music.....
Tera 2
I'm almost 21 and everyone I know loves Katy Perry etc, just because you're older doesn't mean you need to listen to a new kind of music..... Now you guys are just misconstruing my words. I've explained this twice. I'm getting OLDER. When you get OLDER, you start to MATURE. When you mature, your taste NATURALLY tends to change. It's not me saying "I'm ___ years old, time to start hating all pop music!" I've simply lost interest and I'm drawn to different genres.
Zeus 33
I'm almost 21 and everyone I know loves Katy Perry etc, just because you're older doesn't mean you need to listen to a new kind of music..... This I'm 20 in a few weeks and I hope she continues to do pop! As long as her music stays good why would she need to dramatically change her music genre? Although I do hope she carries on testing other generes out etc. But there certainly isn't a need for her to change her sound drastically. And there most definitely is no need to change your music taste drastically just because you're advancing into your 20's Anyway, who thinks we'll hear something in June? Or do you all think it'll be almost complete silence till late July/early Aug?

I've simply lost interest and I'm drawn to different genres. I understand where you're coming from. It happened to me once I hit my mid-20s. I went from listening exclusively to pop music to mostly indie rock/folk. It wasn't a conscious decision; I just lost interest in most pop music and became drawn to different artists and genres. Gaga is one of the few pop artists I still listen to. Edited May 28, 2013 by Batwings
TimisaMonster 31,073
I'm not "changing" my taste in music. I'm maturing. And Gaga is too if you haven't noticed. I'll always be a lover of Gaga and Beyonce's pop jams, but I have nearly no interest in other pop music anymore. It's all so boring and uninspired I'm maturing too, but does liking other genres make you more mature than us? Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify! KimtinoAguilera 0
Kinda really sad Redone is not on ARTPOP. I mean when He and Gaga works its not the typical club music we hear nowadays with those after the chorus theres the grinding club beat- I JUST LOVE JUDAS SO MUCH!!! Tera 2
Let me put it this way. When I was in middle school, I LOVED Katy Perry! I could perfectly relate to her songs like Hot n Cold, Teenage Dream, Firework, etc. Then I got older, and I matured. I got interested in new things! Other pop artists like Gaga and Beyonce stuck with me because they were still deep and interesting as well as inspiring and entertaining. I'm maturing too, but does liking other genres make you more mature than us? No, once again you're twisting my words I understand where you're coming from. It happened to me once I hit my mid-20s. I went from listening exclusively to pop music to mostly indie rock/folk. It wasn't a conscious decision; I just lost interest in most pop music and became drawn to different artists and genres. Gaga is one of the few pop artists I still listen to. Yes! I don't get what is so hard to understand about this for people. They just want to disagree with me and twist my words around no matter that Edited May 28, 2013 by Cosmic

Little J 0
Remember when ARTPOP is supposed to be the decay of a blonde popstar? I actually wrote a song related to that, like decay because of money. It's called Riches N' Pain. Here it goes, hope you like it! :) I'll dance on you Give me your money Put it in my mouth I'll do it again without a doubt More like Rich n' Ratchet tbh

(Sidenote: Wasn't twistin your words :ray: ) And now you get it. Just because I want Gaga to move in a less pop direction, doesn't mean I have anything against someone who wants her to stay purely pop and produce more Poker Faces and Bad Romances. And I have plenty of friends who still jam to Katy Perry, and we get along just fine

Toph 375
I'm 25 =P but I still love pop music, always will. My tastes have certainly matured though, I rarely listen to what I listened to in middle school / early high school (lots of metal, screamo, emo, punkrock ), but I listen to lots of things I never would have listened to before, like hip hop, some rap, bluegrass, instrumentals, classics, EDM, etc.
Matti 91
No one made the 1970s joke. You guys are really maturing.

And I have plenty of friends who still jam to Katy Perry, and we get along just fine I REALLY DON'T want Gaga to make Poker Face 4.0's and Bad Romance 7.0's..... I feel the exact same way! I love Gaga making "experimental pop music", but it's still considered to her and her fans pop music. That's what I liked about TFM and BTW, cuz I couldn't compare it to any other artist and it purpose! I'm also over the whole reductive, cheap, meaningless put-your-hands-in-air club songs! Pop music has meaning, but only if Gaga or Beyoncé make a song tbqh :worship2: Oprah slays TV! :ray: Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify!
