Very incorrect. The Fame Monster is considered an album on it's own. It gets grouped into The Fame because the deluxe edition had the entire "The Fame" album on it, and therefore added to it's sales. But they are completely separate entities recorded at separate times and worked on by completely different people.

I think it's safe to assume there won't be two volumes. If Gaga had that much material ready to go for this year, there is no way we would be entirely in the dark. There is no credence to this besides Helen's art, which means nothing.

I don't think it is a bad idea, but it just won't happen.

It may very well be an album on it's own. We have no idea what each volume has in store. There are vastly different producers working on ARTPOP right now and, in fact, it would worry me if they all ended up on the same volume together. And do you not think Gaga is capable of focusing on different themes for each? I'm sure she'll still be working on volume 2 songs while during the volume 1 campaign. That means more time for ideas to flourish. There are way too many assumptions going around here just to discredit the two volumes idea. Honestly, Gaga never should have said anything about it.

It is not safe to say the two volumes idea has been scrapped. In fact, everything points to it still happening. Gaga never refuted it and that DJWS article restated it once again. It is a professional article... its information regarding the new album must have come from DJWS's on own mouth.

And another thing, since JT is moving along with the plan too, it is more safe to say that the industry is experimenting with new ways of raising both album and single sales with better known artists. It's likely that when volume 2 is released, ARTPOP will be repackaged just as TFM was with a new cover. It'll give Gaga longevity, which is not something she had with BTW.

I'm keen to have two "volumes" but why not just two discs in one case? She could have a double-sided album with two "front" faces? That way it doesn't matter if nobody wants to buy the ART side (if that even happens) because it's bolted onto the POP side  :omfgaga:

As stated above, that defeats the purpose of two volumes. Two volumes are being released to have greater longevity and interest in the ARTPOP era. Album sales will drag out if the GP is made aware of the hype surrounding new material with volume two.

If she had named it "The fame volume 2: The Fame Monster" Would it be any different? No. But she kind of did, like books, "The girl with ____" Trilogy, they all started the same and were parts of a set, however, they were also their own bodies of work. Just like TFM.

I get you bew. :hor:

I also believe that more frequent new music is the key to success in the digital era. Why do you think Rihanna is so successful? She doesn't hit hard, but she hits them often -- keeping them on the edge.

Gaga hits hard, but that's it and the GP gets up and walks away. This is her opportunity to hit hard and hit a lot. The Fame/Monster eras were also a time when Gaga hit hard, many times. She basically had the world knocked out by the Alejandro era.

To me, the song DJWS posted on Coyova is AMAZING!! It screams Sex Dreams to me! I love the catchy Bad Romance (Not sure how to describe them, but those 'da da da dada') things :P

The song DJWS posted sounded like it was made in GarageBand or FL Studio. I understand that it's a demo, and the song is nice, but it can stay away from ARTPOP. I don't have many expectations for ARTPOP, but I think it'll at least be better than that. It doesn't even have a futuristic rave feel. All it reminded me of is a dumbed down version of Government Hooker mixed with BJ+AF.

Gaga has been going to the actual studio with thousands of physical controls and options to work with. We are gunna get something amazing. With DJWS' response to the 'more Government Hooker singles' tweet, it has me wondering if DJWS has a lot to do with the 90's rave sound, because his synth work is very similar to that. If ARTPOP is split up into 2 volumes (I think it's a great idea to do commercial songs first to gain more momentum for the experimental songs), i'm pretty sure DJWS will be seen a lot on the experimental side of things.

DJWS really just has me worried about the sound of the album. I really don't want him to over influence Gaga with the sound of trap. I just don't think it suits Gaga's style.

Can somebody tell me really quick why everyone is discussing this 2 volumes thing again? I saw someone post: "I'm happy it's being reconsidered" but how the hell do people know this? I haven't seen/heard anything  :noparty:

@Didymus If you look on his Cayova account, there is an article about him (an interview) where it mentions the 2 volumes.

I don't think we have to worry- remember what she said? "I know what my fans want and thats fun dirty dance music"
