If things would need more work she would be putting in the effort. So the album might be close to being finished! She'll slay our asses forever! I actually do like it and the only thing that I could pick out from it lyric wise was "I want!". i know i think she wants something lol. and i do think it sounds a bit like her. IF she would ever decide to end her career that's fine and we would have to respect her decision however if she wouldn't even say a word to her fans about quitting it would be very insulting and rude. People who support her for years at least deserve a simple word or two from her announcing she's ending her career. We would deserve that, it's called being a decent human being. She'll slay our asses forever! her career will not depend on this comeback. she is still a leading popsinger and she build a lot of trust with her fans and the general public. a lot people will buy the album even without listening it before. what we should keep in mind is, that it might not be that kind of megaseller like adele or TF/M. but there will be a lot attention, i trust in her to have good music on it and the promo will be huge. its not going to fail that hard.
