If I was doing the marketing, here are the gimmicks I would have... 4 different covers that go together to create one large picture. Each version of the album comes with its own special 2nd disc. 1. Disc 2 contains 10 exclusive remixes 2. Disc 2 contains 10 acoustic versions of ARTPOP tracks 3. Disc 2 contains 5 alternative productions of disc 1 tracks 4. Disc 2 is a DVD "in the studio" documenting the creation of 3 tracks This ensures superfans will buy 4 times their normal amount. This would equate to around 12m sales But I'm not done. I would set up the release of ARTPOP volume 2 one year later. This would get her out of touring volume 1 alone. Volume 2 would have a different strategy. Using the Willy wonka method of golden tickets. To celebrate ARTPOP volume 2, Gaga will be performing 2 exclusive shows 1 in New York's Terminal 5 with 3000 tickets available on a lottery basis by entering a unique code from the CD case into LM.com and the 2nd show at London's royal Albert hall with tickets available in the same way. These shows are promoted as the last time she will be performing hits Lovegame, Pokerface & Judas. The two shows are entirely free and will feature performances of all ARTPOP volume 1 & 2 material. The shows will be filmed for the ARTPOP complete collection box set.. This would promote multibuys and boost chart performance considerably. As far as the app goes, it should be as cheap as possible... maybe that's where the code for tickets can be entered... Food for thought for her marketing team.
