If we have nothing by 22nd Feb, there won't be anything till the tour ends.

I feel like our best shot for a single release Is on the date of her B - day March 28th :nails:

Same here, but since she said she wants to re-record her vocals, I'm guessing late April :confuse:

But maybe she already recorded her first single and is really happy with it. Wishful thinking... lol

Probably didn't mean all of them though... I'm hoping she was wise and recorded the lead during her December break.

Didn't Zedd say that they work together and create whatever they want to, even if it's experimental? How are they specifically making songs made for radio appeal? I am sure this mind frame applies to all her producers too.

Would it be a prenotion of knowing you need to make dance music and then creating whatever you want as long as it is dancy? I don't really get it.

I think ARTPOP will surprise us all because no one knows what this fuqin album will sound like

That's a good point. I forgot Zedd said that.

The only thing that scares me is that we are already starting to hear of artists who are releasing their albums in March, April, and May (OneRepublic, JT, NKOTB, Fall Out Boy, Vampire Weekend, etc). It worries me if artists are announcing their release dates now and they're for May… if she doesn't announce till late March/early April, does that mean we're not getting it till June or July? :blehga:

The industry never releases albums by surprise. There's always SOME lead-in and promo associated with it ahead of time, no matter who the artist is.

I was really hoping she would open ARTPOP with a very public performance of the lead single. Esp. after last year, the grammies would be really cool.

I have a feeling that the album release is going to be very unique and risky. I do not think we're going to see any more cheap Farmville collabs or Amazon deals.

I was thinking about that!

To be honest, the lead single from new Lady Gaga album does not need that much performance promotion. If the song is truly released in April, as many speculate, If the record label chooses the right song to be released as the first singe and the radio falls in love with it, I guess we should expect it to chart well and last for some longer time than Born This Way (song) did. There are however some big promo tools for the April single: Gaga at Saturday Night Live season finale, Billboard Music Awards 2013 and some talk shows. Don't forget that Gaga didn't have the chance to promote Born This Way, the song, worldwide while it was on the radio, as she was still finishing the Monster Ball in the USA. She only performed Born This Way in UK in May for the first time! This time the lesson has been learnt, they don't seem to release anything before the tour is done. And I believe it's the lead single which deserves more intense worldwide promotion.

Then just my random thoughts in the promo strategy:

If the first song lasts OK (over 15 weeks top 10) and captures the energy of a summer season smash , then when the album is released in June Gaga can play Glastonbury music festival 2013 in the UK to promote the album there. In the USA, I believe there is no need this time around to crack dem GIANT numbers in the first week: she should get No.1 in the first week and then keep selling 170K-220K copies of the album for a longer period of time, like over a month or two.

Leaving her some time to promote the album worldwide, late July - early August would be good time to release the second single, turn up at Lollapalooza and deliver something unforgettably beautiful and ARTPOPish at the 2013 MTV VMAs. That will boost the album sales after the initial buzz and hype is over, and also help the second single digital sales.

The third single then should be a careful choice, as it is supposed to be released around early-mid November - a profitable but dangerous Christmas season. There go American Music Awards 2013 and besides I believe ARTPOP will be Grammy-worthy and the nomination announcements will also bring some attention to the record again and the third singe. If Gaga gets a chance to perform at the 2014 Grammy Awards, then the third single will have the biggest televised performance.

After the Grammy Awards, it's smart to wait some time till the Grammy-fueled hype is over and then who knows? Maybe Gaga will release the 4th single like a month or 2 months before she embarks on the ARTPOP tour.

Further single releases possible, also )
