Swift has never received the amount of radio love which Gaga has been enjoying, Swift has only had like 3 cross-format songs (love story, you belong with me, and the last lead single). Gaga is a prominent and dominant Pop Radio player with 7 No.1 hits there and 3 Top Ten songs. Besides, none of Swift's song can be compared towards Poker Face or Just Dance digital monster sales. As for the albums - no need to say she is outselling anybody, due to several reasons, but her dominance there is not disputed. Her tours are cool in the USA, but don't forget how much more family-friendly she is than Gaga. At Swift show you can expect no unicorn-riding, oral-s-x simulation, gun shooting, orgies on a meat couch and meat dress itself, a woman dry humping another woman on a motorcycle so people can easily bring kids. But the level of Fame of Gaga is bigger anyways. Gaga is provocative, whereas Swift is exploring the image of an innocent girl. Her fashion is more traditional and boring, and I can remember how many boyfriends she has changed in the past 5 years. And completely pissed me off: when Swift announced 50 dollar tickets for her shows, everybody praised it! When Gaga announced 99 cents album - everybody laughed at her. You forgot that Swift hasn't Madonna stans getting delusional at everything she does along with all the other popstars fanbases And even though she is a pop singer almost everyone consider her as a country singer + she has much less media impact because, as you said, she is less provocative and no one really cares about what she does. Plus I think since her fanbase is made up of younger people like Bieber's or 1D's one, they saw in it just an opportunity to meet her, not a desperate act as everyone did with Gaga.
