I don't get why people are worried about the length of the gap between the lead single and the album release when she could release a 2nd single somewhere in that time frame.

I mean I could understand if she released the lead single and then released the album like 5 months later w/o a 2nd single but why does it matter if she releases 2 singles before the album release?

THANK YOU

The lead is confirmed for this year

RECEIPTS?!

But she didn't slay. And both Born This Way and Judas were horrible single choices in comparison to other songs on the album that had better single potential, in my opinion.

But anyway, its just much more plausible to release the album at least 2 months after the first single. I mean someone like her doesn't need 4 months worth of exposure before an album release. The hype is already there she doesn't have to try so hard to create it.

Plus, some albums only have 3 singles tops. She really can't afford to be that presumptuous this time around, she has to play it safe at least a little.

I never said she slayed with the BTW era. im talking about the ARTPOP era :duhga: again, you fail to understand me. What Interscope had planned single release time wise for BTW was really good but its the single choices that were bad. I think that if it were the same way for ARTPOP but with good single choices it would do so much better like BTW was expected to do.

Actually the way Interscope had planned the singles out for BTW was really good time wise.

Its just that some of the songs weren't single quality. That's when the problems arose.

Interscope should use the BTW single plan again but with ACTUAL SINGLE MATERIAL

yeah the timing between BTW and Judas felt right. the only thing i didnt like was when they released Edge of Glory and Hair, it felt to rushed. :noparty: i know they were only promo singles but still >.< but all the singles after the album dropped felt right timing wise

I think they released TEOG was because the plan was when a song wasnt successful, that was when another single would be released. Its actually logical, but its not so great if the album is ****ty as fuq

I don't think The Edge of Glory was meant to be the third single, it's just that Judas was doing poorly on radio, they released it as promo and the sales were huge so they sent it to radios a week later. Judas ****ed it all up. If that hadn't been released I think the single choices would have been different throughout the entire era lol

No, you misinterpret me. You're presuming that there could be 4 months of slayage but the Born This Way era disproved that. Even if better singles are chosen this time. Judas was rush released anyway wasn't it?

Plus, like I said. It's not just that the singles were bad. She doesn't need the hype. She doesn't need 4 months of masturbation before releasing her record because all that hype is already there naturally.

Why on earth would you want her to repeat that strategy? Like...

Yes there could be 4 months of slayage but for BTW there wasnt because BTW's single choices werent strong.

Im not arguing about this anymore.

I disagree. I felt that Born This Way could have lasted longer than it was. It was still charting very well and sales were still high when Judas was released. it could have gone another month or so in my opinion :nacho:
