Allison M 357
I didn't see any Gaga fans harassing Justin's fans. But she is saying that it's hard for his fans right now because they are watching someone they idolize turn for the worst with the whole internet hoping the worst for him. They have it hard enough right now and encouraging them to not let people's comments hurt them, but also learn from his mistakes and don't go down that path is all Gaga is asking us to do. So either don't send hate toward them, or don't say anything.
tristessa 0
I think she's right we shouldn't berate his fans, that's not fair as they've done nothing wrong and it's petty to get on eachother's case like that, especially when a lot of them are probably young and taking it very seriously. That said, lumping "born this way" and "trend this" and all that is kind of unnecessary. We need to actually be the example we want to set, we can only control ourselves, it's a choice we make on our own. We should try to leave all the fanbase stuff out of it ourselves and just be decent to each other. Anyway, that's just my opinion. But I'm surprisingly in favor of this message. DontDoubtDavid 1,191
I love you, Gaga, for how positive and full of love you are, but I can't support Justin Bieber at this time (and yes, I do think supporting his fans is supporting him by association). I would rather help Beliebers by showing them that the things Justin has been doing are harmful to himself and to others. Encouraging their support of Justin Bieber is just encouraging their delusions that he's okay, when he's very clearly not. He needs help, and twitter trends aren't going to help him. The justice system needs to work its hand now. *Edited for clarification and expansion
Mister G 10,432
I have to agree. Bieber may have made some mistakes but the only thing the fans have done is like his music, and you can't bash them for that. As someone's mentioned, what if Gaga had been arrested? The Little Monsters would never hear the end of it, and no one would be there to support us. She's doing something she doesn't have to do, and it's really sweet. That was probably my post Yeah if Gaga was the one arrested we would truly never hear the end of it. If anything, I think all the Gaga haters would make a holiday out of it. Hell the media would make a holiday out of it, forget a simple field day. Edited January 24, 2014 by Mister G

DeleteMyAccount 11,881
I support what Gaga said. You can't solve anything without rising with the enemy. I may not be a fan of Bieber or know many of his fans; however, it's important to take care of one another even when it's the hardest thing to do. You don't have to like them for what they stand for, but standing up to bullying and negativity online should always be considered.

Raikov 183
""Hey monsters. I know everyone today is taking about Justin's arrest and all sorts of words and judgements are happening on the Internet. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and to stand up for themselves, but I think we should be supportive of Beliebers. They deserve, just like any other fan, to feel strong for each other and Justin so they can continue to share the bond they have through music. We may not understand everything celebrities do because there's only so much we see, but Justin and Beliebers were 'born this way' too. Let's spread love and compassion to Beliebers today. That is what we are all about. Can you trend #MonstersSupportBeliebers ?" Is she seriously trying to justify Justin's behavior because of "the media" or "child star problems"? The DUI, egging someone's house, spitting on fans, throwing water balloons at the police, urinating in a bucket at a restaurant... These aren't "a few mistakes," as some of you have been saying. He clearly doesn't respect people around him and uses his money and influence to get out of situations (the cops he ballooned were "convinced" not to file a report; he called Bill Clinton personally after his remarks). The water balloon thing happened in 2010. This isn't some recent "spiral into insanity" where he's hurting himself; his actions show blatant disregard for others. I'm all for him getting help, but quite frankly I do not sympathize with someone who seems to care so little about everyone else around him and shows no interest in getting better. As for his fans, while I'm definitely against attacking them (if you spend your time "defending your fave" and attacking her "rivals," you seriously need to do something productive with your life), I think their fixation with Bieber is very unhealthy and should not be encouraged further. I'm really not a person who latches onto "idols" and I never have been, so I don't get this behavior. Nevertheless, it worries me how many people stake their identity on being Beliebers or Little Monsters or KatyCats or whatever. Stan culture should be fun, not a matter of personal pride. Gaga's done and said things that have definitely disappointed me and I've gotten on with my life. I think this idolization behavior needs to be a--lyzed and discouraged because it's never good to look up to someone that blindly, be they Mother Teresa or Justin Bieber.
