Arturo 40,746 Posted May 9, 2015 Share Posted May 9, 2015 when the bottom half of the top 10 isn't even scratching 100k and huge songs like LMLYD and Earned It are crawling to 2M, it's quite obvious that a 1M selling song is a hit.so by saying PG will go platinum, you're saying it's going to be a hit by today's standards. I just hope this would be the last time Britney's releasing a non-Max Martin single. But I can't say either that I badly "want" her to release one, speaking as a chart fan of her, because whether she won't get another #1 or not, her place among pop's all-time most successful has long been sealed anyway. At this point, I'm under the conviction that her getting another smash would come off as a mere bonus for her. It if comes, then fine, it'd be a welcome addition. If it won't, it'd be equally fine as well. I've a feeling she feels the same anyway. And speaking of welcomes, welcome back!!! Always great to see you here! Thank you!! <3 and I personaly dont to think a hit will do anything to benefit Britney's career since her singles don't seem to sell her albums anymore(and PG certainly won't) but its good for just keeping her name out there and as a fan it'd give me the satisfaction of hearing her on the radio again. But honestly all of Ellie's songs besides Lights kinda sold average despite huge airplay, Burn was released when sales were better and it still hasn't scrapped past 2m to my knowledge. Can't really comment on Earned It's poor sales.But like I said, I'm holding out to see where this song will go in the next two weeks to completely rule it out.
