Mills 446
Unbelievable! 1989 is going to end up at number two. I guess that jump to an all Pop album worked out just fine. lol Yes. The fact that 1989 in its first 14 weeks has outsold Red (an album w/c also debuted more than 1M in its first week) convinces me more that it won't be a huge problem for 1989 to pass the 6M mark (or at least get really close to it) around Taylor's 6th studio album release, perhaps in late 2016. And it may be too early (and bold) to predict who would win big at the next year's GRAMMYs, but a win (or wins) could allow 1989 to follow the trajectory of Adele's 21, not to mention the advantages it already had from the moment it sold 2 million in its first three weeks. I've been closely following 1989's weekly SoundScan sales, comparing it both with Red's and 21's, and it'd be very interesting what would be its total sales once it reaches its 35th week (the week when 21 hit 4.1M+) to better see what could be the bigger picture for this album. The challenge for the fastest-selling album of the last 10 years is to pull incredible longevity. But then again, with continued release of hit singles, and with a sold-out world tour to back it up, and a wide critical acclaim through major awards could lead to that rare opportunity of hitting a diamond status in less than four years' time. What others may call "impossible" could end being very possible. And that's truly unbelievable.
Alii 2,039
So it took 21 35 weeks to pass the 4.1Million mark? :spin:

And that's truly unbelievable. if no major releases happen like another Beyonce or 21 or Gaga doesn't release new album before sept.31 I see no competition for 1989 right now just none and with Style and alot potential singles the album will easly carry through 2015 without falling from top 20/30 and future Grammy win I see passing 6m with ease even could reach 10m it's not out of the question tho It's much more fun to have hizophrenia... u never get lonely

Yes, she has a huge fanbase and the whole country loves her, but that wouldn't be enough for this sucsess. You can't stream the album from spotify or something like that, u can't find it on YT. U have to pay these $13.99. That's a bit greedy but very smart
