Liam Germanotta 3
iTunes is not counting tracks for their charts anymore when somebody pre ordered the album and gets the track as part of the album before the album release (see DWUW, Dope, Venus...) It is also said that those tracks won't be reported to Nielsen either (however I'd wait for an official statement by them first). However, if someone buys the track without having the album ordered, it does count. So, Taylor's new track tomorrow won't rush the charts because of her zillions of album pre orders. However, it can reach buy the power of non-fans that just buy the track, though. http://www.thatericalper.com/2014/09/18/itunes-reporting-methodology-change-impacting-nielsen-soundscan-u-s-canada/
Cher 15
Thank GOD. If this rule had been taken into account just a little bit over a year ago we would've have Venus as the second single :'(

Spyro 8,438
This would've made Venus the second single if this was made a year ago. :l Spyro the Dragon
TEANUS 14,963
Thank GOD. If this rule had been taken into account just a little bit over a year ago we would've have Venus as the second single :'( Ummm, DWUW would've still got all the same critical reception that it got the day of release. And please, DWUW did great considering it had no video and was plagued with continuing bad publicity :) British social ladies with upturned pinkies, glasses clinking // xoxoTEANUS
Morphine Prince 105,622
So basically people who care about how their artists chart won't pre-order the album.
Cher 15
This would've made Venus the second single if this was made a year ago. :l we think the same boo <3 and it would've allowed Judas to live a little more if it was around during BTW Ummm, DWUW would've still got all the same critical reception that it got the day of release. And please, DWUW did great considering it had no video and was plagued with continuing bad publicity :) ummmmmmm, no it wouldn't have stop being delusional :)

Haroon 49,685
I guess that does make it more evident as to who actually wants the song Plus fans can still contribute to the charting without having to spend more if they just buy the songs as they're released and then "complete" their album once it's released right? Providing that "completing" an album when it's released counts towards an album sale

DrewStevens 5,249
Ummm, DWUW would've still got all the same critical reception that it got the day of release. And please, DWUW did great considering it had no video and was plagued with continuing bad publicity :) This. DWUW was meant to be a single, they just rushed the era to avoid a Judas sized mess.
