People barely knew Lana was even there until she went up to accept the award. Taylor's appearance/performance was being hyped up to no end and she didn't take home anything. It is likely that Katy will win but we don't know if any of the others will be there yet so it's not a given. Yes coz they wanted to promote Lana, she had done ok in the UK but wasn't huge and then she got an award. This is why it could just as easily be Lorde. I guess anyone has a chance though, Janelle has a cult following in the UK and Gaga has had good sales so this award could boost her plus they like Gaga.
