The examples have been updated from when I posted.

I'm sure the creator had good intentions, they meant instead of being straight up rude write constructive criticism on why you dislike the aspect followed up by how it could be improved and that point is shown more in their updated examples.

Can we all move on from the examples and RadioARTPOP comments and focus on what it's really about?

Not as a site, but me as an individual. Shame that instead of supporting a cause or me myself, you decided to make it a site thing. Rude AF

Just because I thought that GGD was onto this is rude? Mess :duck:

To avoid another infraction, a short disclaimer, the following is all "my opinion" so it's ok

I feel like..

This is a mess, the old examples were so shady it's unreal. Their idea of being "polite" was so much worse than I had seen on here, the old Lana Del Rey example? Haha, seriously. Live by the incredibly high standards you are setting yourselves if you're going to preach to people.

The approach to this whole campaign has been wrong, Gaga's, radio ARTPOP's and the fans. Many groups and politicians are in talks with social media sites to be more strict on the material allowed on their sites and for them to be moderated more closely, Gaga should have backed this instead of letting her fans rage war on one another over what's apparently negative and what's not.

Just another way for Radio ARTPOP to promote themselves again.

^ This is just how I feel, that makes it ok apparently. I would write out more but it's an up hill battle getting anyone to actually listen for a second. I know we would all love to live in the land of rainbows and sunshine but we don't, we're tackling a problem the wrong way and it's starting to actually become tiring trying to be nice during all of this.

This!

I feel like...

This thing about being polite online is an uphill battle. Being onling gives you an anonymous mask to say what you want. Calling people out and saying that they're "rude AF" isn't exactly online kindness and you wouldn't really say that to a stranger.

I support the message whole heartedly but it is extremely tiring neededing to sugar coat my opinions with pixie dust and rainbow sprinkles. "I feel like", "in my opinion", are just words that soften the blow. Bullying is another thing but stating what I believe about another artist? They're pop stars, celebrities, etc. They need to grow thicker skin because they signed up for that life. Cyber-bullying is a different story though and needs to be handled swiftly. However, online kindness with pop stars is absurd.

I myself have taken steps to be more positive to others on social media and refrain from posting negativity to others and encourage others to do the same.

I feel like...

Online Kindness Day is a step in the right direction but I feel like its being handled the wrong way. The way its being presented feels like a ploy to gain Gaga's attention. With so much focus on Monsters, music, and Gaga, it feels more like a device to promote themselves to Gaga. I feel like it needs to be generalized to include more than just monsters and focus on the real issue; not the music, but people who are bullied. And a book given to Gaga full of people who did this just further reinforces the thought that its to promote themselves.. You don't do good to be noticed, you do it to strengthen and further your community. Their hearts may be in the right place, but the presentation doesn't seem like it.

Tl;Dr POKday shouldn't be about music, but about cyber bullying instead.

You're the one yelling "mess" and that's unnecessary.

At least they're trying to start something? I don't see the point of bashing something with good intentions, well structured or not.

The idea is nice, but it's not how it should be executed. Both examples before and after were shady and rude. This would be the correct way.

Example: Katy Perry is a talentless hack.

The polite correction: Katy Perry is a really great human being. She excels better in certain fields and lacks in others, but who doesn't? I wish her all the best and cannot wait for her future endeavors.

Compassion and empathy is what Gaga is asking from us. Not heavily worded, sarcastic, rude remarks.

The intentions don't come across good though, people are just doing what Gaga is apparently expecting of them.. except these people are making it a project to show Gaga so she'll pay them attention.

If Gaga wants us to be spread positivity blah blah blah, become more strict on what is allowed on the site and lead by example, we shouldn't be competing to be "nice"
