XoXoJoanneGaga 629
Cyber bullying is not a silly issue. Plenty of young kids in the past few years have been tormented in social networking sites. For example, Jamey Rodemeyer got this actual post on one his accounts "You should kill yourself nobody would care :)" So don't say it's silly, because it's not. And I commend gaga for taking a stand against disgusting people who are so willing to say such hurtful things online because they think there are no real consequences. But there are and it needs to change. I know that, and Gaga's already been speaking out against bullying for years. The difference is that this year she's let it affect her career and public image in a negative light, and she's lost the respect of a lot of fans. How can you fight bullying when you yourself can't handle it? Someone brought up racism earlier, but do you think Martin Luther King would have gone on Twitter and blocked people calling him the N-word and cried about it had Twitter existed back then? No, he was the leader of the Civil Rights movement because he was incredibly strong and intelligent. The idea that Gaga can be the leader of an anti-bullying movement when she herself, one of the biggest stars in the world, can't handle faceless bashing on Twitter is embarrassing and shows a real regression from how strong and fearless she used to appear back in 2009-2011. There's a reason so many people flocked to her strength and wanted to call her "Mother"
Sara 1,128
I've never seen a big artist react this way because Rihanna didn't act this way, she dragged that hater and showed she doesn't give a damn. Like Beyonce says: "My papa taught me to love my haters". Gaga on the other hand has showed that it really gets to her because she's publicly lamented many times about how "people are so mean to her", and she took the time to actually launch an online campaign to end twitter shade and went as far as saying you're not a real fan if you don't stand with her on this completely irrelevant, silly issue. And yes this does connect to my OP, because I was outlining gaga's immaturity. I'm just articulating my points better today. Gaga just blocked the user. Rihanna responded hatefully, so obviously Rihanna has the thinner skin and the comment really hurt her. And it's not an irrelevant silly issue. If we keep letting disrespect, drama, and pain serve as our favorite forms of Entertainment, we are going to end up with Hunger Games! I'm sorry, but I take respect seriously, especially when it comes to the few brave souls in this world who are actually trying to create new things!
Stefani328 321
How can I give examples of something that doesn't exist? I'd like to believe that Gaga reads constructive criticism about her career and takes it into account, but there's no signs of that so far, instead we have many instances of her blocking fans publicly and indicating that she can't deal with being bashed by faceless avatars on Twitter. I've never seen any big artist, let alone one of the biggest in the world, react to haters this way. The only other pop stars I can think of who even acknowledge their haters are Rihanna and Kanye, and they both just laugh it off and use it as fuel to improve themselves. Rihanna has had fights with people on Twitter, one just recently so she is a horrible example. There is less constructive criticism on here and more blatant hate. I think I got it. Fans are disappointed because Gaga isn't selling like she used to and since she isn't doing so just like children they act out by taking their anger and disappointment out on other fans and on Gaga. It's not what you say, constructive criticism is fine, it's how it's being said. People just jumped on the idea that she doesn't like ANY negativity, they didn't stop to think that maybe she doesn't like the members that only come here to complain about everything she does, I mean those that have post after post of negative comments. Yes, there are fans on here that do just that. Edited December 24, 2013 by Stefani328

LadyoftheDam 4
A mega pop star should NEVER come to these forums. People sound off, they project, critique - the creator must never be present. In my opinion, there is an app now, and Ms G should deliver high quality B-side content to her fans directly - that is the way a pop star communicates: with valuable creative content. I can understand her disillusionment, but what I think is that all of YOU (I am a casual fan, so I don't count myself) warts and all - this fanbase are who MADE her the star she is now. You are the REASON she exists in her current incarnation and the reason for her success. I have lurked on and off for a while and although I can see that even those of you who are mostly negative are still real fans. Because for some of you it is almost an obsession, you take her highs and lows to heart and sound off about them in your own ways. This forum is like a teenage girl's diary in many ways - it's often neurotic and certainly not something that should be read by the 'parent', so to speak. But that doesn't invalidate your love and need for her - and this forum's value, the value of the 'stans', the fans, who who buy the music, watch the videos over and over and wait with bated breath for the star's next move. And just like the teenager's diary, it should not be read by the parent or anyone else and judged on its maturity, because that's not what it's all about. I hope Lady G realizes that if she set herself up to be an archetype and a goddess of a sort - a Mother - there has to be a sense of humor about these things, an ability to laugh at her 'kids', appreciate them for who they are, gently admonish them when necessary, but also not let their behavior affect her adult paradigm. Finally, when you're a pop star, you set yourself up to be a--lyzed, critiqued, adored, hated and compared. That is just the name of the game. My hope is that in her newfound sobriety she will find the strength and the center she needs to be above all those things and rule as I am positive she can. This is perfect. ManuelMonsterr 0
I think the problem was that it got too much. Smart critique is fine, but constant negativity? Poisonous. Sesshomaru 4
I can't believe so many of you are trying to justify the constant negativity and harsh criticisms by saying she's immature. She stopped coming to a website, boohoo, somebody call the wambulance. If anything, the fact that you are being backed into a corner and can't admit being rude and perpetually negative is wrong, that's truly immature... Miky 9,426
Gaga not visiting GGD only supports the theory that she would rather surround herself with yes-men and yasss-twinks rather than face criticism. I get that some members go too far with their meltdowns, but there are a lot that have constructive criticism too. If her largest fansite is displeased with the era, that should be setting off alarms that what she's doing isn't working. Not all of this "negativity" is because her sales or chart positions are underwhelming. Maybe some fans aren't happy with the quality of her work? And the hypocrisy of saying "stan for Katy" and "stop the drama" in the same status God bless your post. Too many people here with moral superiority complex. Gaga is completely aware of how well her music is doing, and she doesn't need a ton of people to drag her because of it. :)
Brown Eyes 0
Gaga takes stan culture and the internet so seriously (going as far as including a gifmaker in the app and including cringy stan lingo like "slay!" in her songs and wanting to police her fans for tweeting mean things ) That comment about how she acts like a grandma who doesn't understand the modern world was spot on. Anyway I know I've posted before but I don't understand why a popstar was reading their fan forums (or that littlemonsters.com site) in the first place. You gain nothing by paying so much attention to what online stans say. Edited December 24, 2013 by Brown Eyes
