HANZ 4,380
Just read what I wrote once again. You can't compare them because Gaga loves her fans like they're part of her family. She's not a typical popstar. And she became famous for not giving a *** when she first became popular, everything about her is actually not giving a ****. But you just can't not give a **** about someone you genuinely love. Try to imagine yourself in her postition once again. It's not about haters, it's about fans. well look how things are right now, everything is a damn mess, sometimes it's better to ignore some fans are even offended by her statements, even those who are real fans everything would've been better if she just ignored it and I said haters because she has a problem with them, remember that letter kelly osbourne wrote to her? gaga should have just ignored it as well and I don't My Favs = Lady Gaga, Janet Jackson, Ricky Martin, AKB48

Gaga gets a lot of criticism."Please provide examples. You said she surrounds herself with immature people, but only give ONE example of 1 18-year old, who, by the way, is only trying to help Gaga out after Gaga paid for her surgery, so she is a special case.Hyperbole is not "perfectly reasonable criticism". codymonster 8,360
Why are people saying she was rude to Katy. She said she always gets number 1's. That's a nice thing to say She basically admitted that Katy does better commercially than her. Edited December 24, 2013 by codymonster
Poker 3,638
I guess this is what happens when you stop treating your fanbase as you used to. Kindness rules all.
SomethingMore 1,701
I guess this is what happens when you stop treating your fanbase as you used to. Yep. I understand every single meltdown. Why cant she be polite enough to simply tweet "Monsters the video is delayed. I will tweet more about the whole situation ASAP." Or something like that, anything !! alffy74 53
Maybe there are a few people who always complain and are negative, but we all know the idiom: "the squeaky wheel gets the grease"

DanceInTheFlames 154
There IS a lot of negativity on this forum. "ARTPOP should have done what Beyonce did" "Anyone else hate ARTPOP?" "FASHION! Sucks" "The gaga I loved is gone" These are all titles of threads I have seen probably more than once in the past couple of months since the release of the album. And that's just from this era. There's a difference between constructive criticism and just pure negativity. And yes I can completely understand why gaga might not want to visit a forum such as this one. She's a human being and has shared very personal things about herself and to have those things so scrutinized and bashed (really quite freuqently) on a forum created by her own fans would be a little hard to swallow. Yes it does sometimes seem she's not the best at receiving criticism, but I forgive her for being sensitive. People always forget she's human and not made of steel. Hyperbole is not "perfectly reasonable criticism". How can I give examples of something that doesn't exist? I'd like to believe that Gaga reads constructive criticism about her career and takes it into account, but there's no signs of that so far, instead we have many instances of her blocking fans publicly and indicating that she can't deal with being bashed by faceless avatars on Twitter. I've never seen any big artist, let alone one of the biggest in the world, react to haters this way. The only other pop stars I can think of who even acknowledge their haters are Rihanna and Kanye, and they both just laugh it off and use it as fuel to improve themselves. Oh, I've seen plenty of artists respond to hateful comments on Twitter. And don't say you've never seen a big artist react this way, and then dismiss Rihanna like she's not a big artist. :) And in fact I saw nothing but praise posted on here about how hard Rihanna dragged that one user. But that's not what this meltdown and your OP were about. That Twitter block was a long time ago.

I've never seen a big artist react this way because Rihanna didn't act this way, she dragged that hater and showed she doesn't give a damn. Like Beyonce says: "My papa taught me to love my haters". Gaga on the other hand has showed that it really gets to her because she's publicly lamented many times about how "people are so mean to her", and she took the time to actually launch an online campaign to end twitter shade and went as far as saying you're not a real fan if you don't stand with her on this completely irrelevant, silly issue. And yes this does connect to my OP, because I was outlining gaga's immaturity. I'm just articulating my points better today. Plenty of young kids in the past few years have been tormented in social networking sites. For example, Jamey Rodemeyer got an actual post like this on one his accounts "You should kill yourself nobody would care :)" So don't say it's silly, because it's not. And I commend gaga for taking a stand against disgusting people who are so willing to say such hurtful things online because they think there are no real consequences. But there are and it needs to change. Edited December 24, 2013 by DanceInTheFlames
PopReaper 2,229
A mega pop star should NEVER come to these forums. People sound off, they project, critique - the creator must never be present. In my opinion, there is an app now, and Ms G should deliver high quality B-side content to her fans directly - that is the way a pop star communicates: with valuable creative content. I can understand her disillusionment, but what I think is that all of YOU (I am a casual fan, so I don't count myself) warts and all - this fanbase are who MADE her the star she is now. You are the REASON she exists in her current incarnation and the reason for her success. I have lurked on and off for a while and although I can see that even those of you who are mostly negative are still real fans. Because for some of you it is almost an obsession, you take her highs and lows to heart and sound off about them in your own ways. This forum is like a teenage girl's diary in many ways - it's often neurotic and certainly not something that should be read by the 'parent', so to speak. But that doesn't invalidate your love and need for her - and this forum's value, the value of the 'stans', the fans, who who buy the music, watch the videos over and over and wait with bated breath for the star's next move. And just like the teenager's diary, it should not be read by the parent or anyone else and judged on its maturity, because that's not what it's all about. I hope Lady G realizes that if she set herself up to be an archetype and a goddess of a sort - a Mother - there has to be a sense of humor about these things, an ability to laugh at her 'kids', appreciate them for who they are, gently admonish them when necessary, but also not let their behavior affect her adult paradigm. Finally, when you're a pop star, you set yourself up to be a--lyzed, critiqued, adored, hated and compared. That is just the name of the game. My hope is that in her newfound sobriety she will find the strength and the center she needs to be above all those things and rule as I am positive she can. Fun Fact: The K in KPop stands for "Kate Bush"
ManuelMonsterr 0
Gaga not visiting GGD only supports the theory that she would rather surround herself with yes-men and yasss-twinks rather than face criticism. I get that some members go too far with their meltdowns, but there are a lot that have constructive criticism too. If her largest fansite is displeased with the era, that should be setting off alarms that what she's doing isn't working. Not all of this "negativity" is because her sales or chart positions are underwhelming. Maybe some fans aren't happy with the quality of her work? And the hypocrisy of saying "stan for Katy" and "stop the drama" in the same status :trootea:
