General Admission vs Reserved Seating

Hi guys/gals,

I've never actually been to a large venue concert before so I'm hoping to make the artRAVE my first. I'm still confused about the benefits of GA vs Reserved, I think because they're the same price (unless I opt for the $200 seats, no thanks).

General Admission gets you a spot down on the floor, which I guess is closer to the stage, but assuming you don't get there super early and have to stick it out in the back, is that a worse concert experience than a mid-level reserved seat maybe up on a balcony somewhere?

For people who've bought both before, should I opt for GA or reserved? Trying to figure out before I commit to one or the other. Let me know your pros/cons. Thanks! :)

For any other concert, like for example a rock/metal concert of a band of moderate popularity, you'd have an amazing spot if you waited for like two or three hours before the show. I almost always end up in the absolute frontrow. But with pop stars :awkney: I just gave up tbh. I kind of like seats because I can get a good spot and pop audiences usually tend to just film everything with their mobile phones, so they ruin my experience because they're blocking my view ànd they're usually just standing there without dancing/singing/... and it's just so goddamn boring.

Hmm yeah true, I'm not looking to camp out or get there obscenely early for a spot in the front... of course it'd be great but I'm going with friends who aren't huge Gaga fans so I don't think they'd wanna do that, lol.

Reserved seating seems to be less risk for your buck. I just dread the idea of being in a nosebleed section and barely seeing the stage because it's so far off. :/

With GA, it's pure luck to get the best row, cause, there isn't row pricing, you buy, and camp and hope to get the best

With seats, they aren't that close to the stage, but, no one can take your seat, and you can chose a row

I like dancin', and ponies....

For the BTWB since I could not queue days before the show, I bought the best seating tickets I could and it was worth it. Great spot, no stress, freedom of movement.

If you are willing to queue AT LEAST 3 days before the show for a good spot in GA, get GA. Otherwise, buy a seating ticket.

But who kunws u can still get dat standin tikect and be furst row sins Gags is a flahp and nubudy will attend da show #thedecay :derpga:

I bought lower level seats which should be in a really good place considering the stage layout...I just didn't want any stress and freedom of movement, although it was a little expensive cause I opted for VIP.

Pros of GA:

- Inside the Stage

- Immersive Atmosphere

- Closest to Gaga Possibly

Cons of GA:

- Crowded

- Long Lines

- Restricted Space or View

Pros of Seating:

- Clear View

- Movement

- Easy to get merch

Cons:

- Farther away from Gaga

Like everyone is saying.....they both have their pros and cons.

A major thing to consider is WHAT CITY YOUR SHOW IS IN. If its gonna be in a major city (LA, NY, Chicago) you might wanna think twice about GA unless you are willing to camp for DAYS. I was gonna do GA for the BTWB but it ended up being cancelled like 2 days before. As of 5pm two days before the concert, there were nearly 100 people in line.... I had been planning on getting in line at 11pm that day. :fat: Since the ARTPOP Ball is in summer, it's gonna be even HARDER to get a good spot since the weather will be warm and people will be out of school.

Also consider your height. If you are on the short side, it's gonna be hard for you to see unless you are front row. You will probably have a better time in a seat than crammed somewhere in the middle of GA struggling to see the entire time.

I have only ever had seats for Gaga concerts. However, I saw MARINA back in May and had GA because there was no other choice. I waited for 9-10 hours in line and was FRONT ROW!!!!! Best night of my life!!!!! It's gonna be 1000x harder to get front row for Gaga though.....so I just stuck with seats as usual. :coffee:

Ga is best if you go early and can be near front, but more than like 15 rows back on floor you can't see anything because it's not raised, if you aren't getting vip or going early I say go with reserved seats

Perfect thread starter, this tour will also be the first of mine and I bought seats. no other choice really. But it is nice to not have to take off from WORK for days or hours to be around by myself in lines. I'm still figuring out why people spend their money on going to several cities and doing GA each time. How do people have time for that?

BUT anyway, this gives me a good feeling about where anyone sits..except nose bleed

Personally I prefer GA because I feel more disconnected from the live experience in seats - almost like I'm watching a movie if that makes sense?

I always manage to get a good view from somewhere even if I'm not at the front and I'm 4ft 9"!! The only thing I'd say is that if you are going with other people and you don't want to split up that makes it much more difficult. If you are on your own you can just creep around until you find the right spot ><

You always get a good view and you're 4ft 9?! How the hell do you do it? There was like 2 people in front of me at the swine fest and I struggled to see gaga sometimes and I'm 5ft!

Heheh I'm just quite good about sneaking into spots that others haven't noticed. ;)

I usually find that if I'm not at the front there is no point standing a few rows back in the middle but if I go out to the sides a bit there are often really good views because everyone is pushing towards the center.. If I don't have a good view at the start I'll basically just keep moving until I find one :) again that's easier to do if you are on your own though..
