Tbh the only thing that's bothering me is that LADY ****ING GAGA having a small tour will equate to SO MUCH wasted potential..

Katy's team is executing everything perfectly, and hence she's utilising her maximum touring potential and selling out everywhere. Gaga not promoting in so many areas shows that her team is deliberately wanting not just a small tour, but an unpopular one..EVEN the areas where SHE IS going, like Australia, are not sold out.

She can have a small tour, but at least promote it enough to popularise it. :shy: :emo:

Promotion costs a lot of money…. it's all about investments and profit…. The money you invest in promotion MUST come back in addition to a profit. Maybe they expect the tour to be more profitable without much promotion: most shows are about 90% sold out and that's fairly good… Maybe they think it's not profitable to spend money in promotion just to sell that 5-10% missing.

Sometimes promotion is TOTALLY FREE though. Madonna PROMOTED her MDNA TOUR with the Superball Halftime Show in 2012: that was a huge free promo spot and tickets for the North American leg of the tour were indeed put on sale immediately after the show to maximize the promotional effect. And it worked great: The North American leg of the tour grossed a lot of money despite the underwhelming performance of the MDNA ALBUM

OK I'm sorry but if Gaga is selling out Aussie dates with literally 00000 promo AT ALL this era, imagine what she would have done with Katy-sized promo

Lets not be sure on that. There were so many acts this recent years who cancelled there tour in Aussie like Kesha and Pitbull.

Let's just be content that Gaga is selling out her dates in Oz.

(Hi I'm new here, but I've been following this thread for 100 pages now)

Gaga hasn't sold out any of the Australian dates. I called up Ticketek and they told me that tickets were still available for those shows, and that they are only classifying them as "sold out" to make people buy tickets for the new dates.

The new Melbourne date has sold 500 tickets, the new Sydney date has sold 750 tickets.

The first Melbourne show has 1000 tickets left, the first Sydney has 3000.

The current tour gross here has been about $3.5-5 million.

They have pushed people in the Perth show forward, and the seating layout have changed for Melbourne and Sydney. For Melbourne's second show, 1/4 of the lower level is now B Reserve. Even the front row of the section directly opposite the stage is B Reserve. They are curtaining off half of the upper level. For Sydney's second show, the entire third level is being curtained off.

There has been fair promo, the same amount of promo as One Direction and the artists that have just announced tours.

Thanks for the info if they're legit.

and welcome here.

They gave you all of this information, on all of these dates, over the phone? That employee certainly had time on their hands and was super helpful! :)

Someone else from Australia call in a couple of days and see if that one person at the ticket office was for real!

In this conference they'll OFFICIALY announce the arrival of the new queen of pop to a once-in-a-life concert in Israel's BIGGEST park. #GetReady #artRAVE  :worship:  :worship2:  :legend: YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS

That makes sense. ;) But that doesn't mean you don't promote AT ALL in some areas, like Australia. Applause and DWUW already underperformed in Australia, so ARTPOP (the album) wasn't very popular. Many people weren't even aware of the fact that she had a new album out, let alone the fact that she'd be performing. She should've at least visited Australia for some interviews and a performance or two, that would've sufficed her enough to ensure good ticket sales.

if this is legit and if it is really that bad, it is hard to believe why they added second shows :rip:

I so knew those first Melb and Sydney shows were not sold out! lol

lol well I don't care - I got APZ for the second show in Melb so I'm really glad. ;) But yeah it sucks that sales are so bad. I just decided to go to Perth too and I'm looking at tickets and I can get A reserve row G - that's not even half way up the lower section and that show has been on sale almost 4 months now. :o

You are such a liar. Ticketek doesn't give away numbers to random people. You tried.

I still don't think the first shows are really sold out though. Well I'm going to them both, so we'll see. ;)

Live Nation wouldn't add second dates if sales were that bad like this person says. He is lying, it's obvious. I can make that stuff up too. I'm emailing Ticketek right now and gonna ask if they are giving away numbers. Watch that liar disappear in a blink of an eye.

I didn't say first dates were sold out. Live Nation wouldn't add second dates if they were selling bad.
