Applause wasn't a huge hit in Europe - it was a very frontloaded single which didn't even do that well first-week. Applause was just as successful as DWUW in Europe, although DWUW barely got airplay outside the UK (and it got some airplay in France after it was like Top 5 for a week or two - which was thanks to the Beats commercial). Both songs were unnoticed by regular radio listeners. ARTPOP (album) had no longetivity here, either. She's selling almost all of these tickets based on past hits like Poker Face and Bad Romance.

Katy Perry is quite popular here. I think Katy could pull this off:

- 2 dates in Holland, 95% sold out

- 1 date in Belgium, 100% sold out

- 4 (arena) dates in France, 100% sold out

- 2 dates in Spain, 75% sold out

- 2 dates in Switzerland, 90% sold out

- 6 dates in Germany, 90% sold out

- 1 date in Austria, 100% sold out

- 1 date in Italy, 100% sold out

- 2 dates in Sweden (Malmö as a replacement for Copenhagen and the usual Stockholm), 100% sold out

- 1 date in Finland, 90% sold out

That's about the same as Gaga's leg - 320k attendance

She couldn't do 2 dates in Spain. It wouldn't be profitable.

She need to input:

- Helsinki, Finland

- Barcelona, Spain (2nd show)

- Madrid, Spain

- Zurich, Switzerland (2nd show)

- Liverpool (UK)

- Manchester, UK (2nd show)

- Vienna, Austria (2nd Show)

- Milan, Italy (2nd show)

- Zagreb, Croatia

- Hanover, Germany/Some city

- Budapest, Hungary

- Riga, Latvia

- Bucharest, Romania

- Belgrade, Serbia

- Some arena that already sold out on Leg 1

For 2015 Tour

I think Madrid will be a sure sold out show. Not sure about another Barcelona date.

Katy Perry can't pull even a sold out show in Spain. At all lmao

I think Katy would sell out 70% in Barcelona and 90% in Madrid  they know how to promote and handle things properly..

I live in Spain, Luc. Only pop music stans know her well and we know she is terrible live. Roar and Dark Horse has been well-known by the GP, who listen to the mainstream radios, but they're not going to a Katy Perry concert.

She has a very little fanbase and that wouldn't be enough to fill a 75% or 90% show in a big arena. The only people who would attend her shows are Gaga/Lana/Rihanna fans just because it would be her first time here.

On topic: Barcelona is sold out. If she tours Europe again, she could add a Madrid concert, but not sure about another BCN date. Maybe the Canary Islands would be a better option

I'd love to trust you, but I can't trust anybody who says something like this after all the 'yeah the GP still prefers to see Gaga over Katy because everybody knows Katy cant sing' and then afterwards Katy outsells Gaga 8x in Australia and 2x in the US...

Lady Gaga is over.

I was at the show yesterday.  Seats didn't fill till the very last minute.  However, it wasn't sold out.  Not even close.  The upper section in the back was curtained off while most other upper sections were 70% full.  Empty seats were also around me, however, I think they were filled by people from the upper decks.  The people in front of me said they got moved to the lower sections.  Just making sure you know it wasn't exactly sold out. ;)  11,500/14,000? from the reviewer.  That would seem about right.

Wait, what do Australia and the US have to do with Spain? That's what he was discussing.

Same with the UK. People said Unconditionally's X Factor performance for sure killed Katy's career there.

Months later, Dark Horse and Birthday are 2 more hits for her and her shows in the UK looked filled to the brim.

Ouch. Isnt the Target Center in Minneapolis smaller? She should've booked that.

We're all living in the world tbh :emma: and it's shown that in basically every country it's like this.

Gaga has a huge fanbase in Spain, and I know that fanbases are more important in Italy and Spain (Venus, DOPE, Applause hit #1. Mess.) than in the rest of the world besides Latin America, but don't underestimate Katy ha power with the GP and her touring team ha marketing power.

Tbh I'm not really interested in how much Katy grosses on her tour compared to Gaga, but to compare the markets in Australia and the USA to the market in Spain just seemed weird as obviously there is gonna be difference in regions.

*edited coz the first part sounded kinda rude*

The Target Center is bigger.  But in terms of concert capacity I don't know.

I looked at the article review and he said 11K.  I think that's pretty accurate considering the estimated attendance on GGD was at 8,000K for a while.  He also just HAD to mention that the BTWB had a 14K audience and TMB had 30K because it had two nights.  It was a very positive review though.  :)

Who cares who outsells who the fact of the matter is gagas tour is doing just fine and she's the one with the real talent she's going to be around a long time she is going to be the first popstar to perform in outerspace she is a legend in the making. She WILL be a legend and there's not a DAMB thing anyone can do about it. So yeah.
