In her double/triple/.../octiple arena shows in almost every populated city she goes.

It's different though.

Gaga's Tokyo, Dubai, Israel, Turkey and Greece shows are the 6 largest solo female performances of the year I believe, could anyone confirm? Unless Miley's Brazil shows pull above 25k, but I doubt it - seeing as she got off to a bad start with her performances in that region so far.

Miley Cyrus

Coliseo de Puerto Rico Jose Miguel Agrelot

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Those aren't individual people though, there's always a percentage of people buying tickets for every night. If Gaga did smaller shows it'd be the same situation. I mean where are Katy's attendance figures that even brush a half-capacity Gaga stadium date like Athens was? They don't even.

You can't attend a one-off show multiple times like you can with multiple smaller dates.

I doubt more than 10% of the people attend two dates. Hell, perhaps even <5% :toofunny: it does not make a significant difference in anything besides VIP packages.

Where's your evidence that people aren't going twice etc? I think the fact that she's in smaller venues hints at it.

Assuming the obvious. Katy doesn't have hardcore fans who go to multiple shows. Probably not even more than 100 per city. She's doing arenas because she doesn't want to play stadiums, because arenas can be more profitable if you're willing to spend more time, and because it makes the fan experience better. When you're not in the studio for 10 hours a day, you have way more time to spend on touring and promoting.

Katy's 8 shows in 1 arena in Melbourne aren't because of people attending multiple shows.

Roar was 10x Platinum. It was massive. Dark Horse was massive. PRISM in general was massive. It makes perfect sense that she would have that many shows with the GP's interest in her at its height.

she's only doing one show here in Spain and she's struggling to sell out the same venue that Gaga.

Katy had promo (billboards) and Gaga didn't.

And I can tell you that Katy has had way more impact and success with her last album that Gaga did. Meanwhile, they don't stop adding tickets for Gaga and they go sold out in one week, then they add more. It has been like that for months.

Also, Pharrel has just cancelled his two concerts in Spain (one of them, same venue as Gaga) because he wasn't selling anything.

I also promise you that he has had a lot of success during the last 2 years with his singles.

So, there are more things apart from the massive hits....

We were talking about the cities where Katy is doing SEVERAL shows. Obviously the interest in her is high in Australia.

700,000 purchased Roar in Aus. Is it really THAT odd to you guys that she's able to play to almost 300,000 people in Australia?
