Luc 4,775
I was doing some math for fun and according to the capacity and prices she will do around 1.2M-1.5M USD from the Lisbon date. I guess she'll sell out 80%-90% of the arena when it's all said and done. I doubt she'll sell out 100%. I don't know if the ticket prices in Spain are the same as The Born This Way Ball but if they are she can gross 3M in Iberian Peninsula alone with two dates. I think ticket prices in Spain were about the same as in Greece.. so that would be avg 80~100$/ticket
Gagadisiak 556
Can someone please change the title of this thread to Katy Perry: The Prismatic World Tour I come here for Gaga tour news and there is more Katy Perry tour news than Gaga. it's now OFF-topic . im surprised the mods didn't do anything . Où est-tu ma Salope ?
monketsharona 81,956
Gaga's the one having a hard time selling out arenas. Katy has like 60 sold out arena dates without Mainland Europe while Gaga only has like 70 dates in total. Katy's NA leg is 2x bigger than Gaga's, remember that. And no: that's not because of low ticket prices. Gagas ticket prices are, in fact, already quite low in North America for a big pop star. No surprise here, she can't do huge sold out shows with an underperforming album and no big hits on it... She could perform in stadiums one day, but clearly not with an album like ARTPOP I doubt she wants it but if she want a huge tour she has to make an album more commercial with potential huge hits. That's clearly not the case with ARTPOP. That was the case with TFM (hence her huge MBT)
Luc 4,775
Agreed: Some of the people in here are far too pressed with Katy. Here management are extremely smart.. katy had smash hit consecutive singles .. Gaga released a music video for one .. and the video for the other one went no where ... there's your comparison so let's more on to talking about the ARTRAVE! Moving conversation towards potential Israel date and potential second Dubai date ... thoughts? second Dubai date? No that's too risky. Artists like Madonna play for 40k in UAE. Gaga already has a 50k+ capacity stadium, so I don't think a second date would sell out, even with promo (which isn't really necessary, considering enough of the GCC upper class already know about the date) Israel date? YES! The demand there is huge she could easily sell out a stadium or have a 40k+ attendance in a park/field there!
WarriorPrince 1
I agree. A second Dubai date would be milking too hard and would not work out. I'm here for a second Spanish date but in Madrid. Which would make sense since she could easily go from France to Spain on the 24th November date.

But I think that developing your style, building reputation and having a few memorable hits is the most important thing. Gaga already has quite some reputation with touring, but it can still go much bigger: look at Madonna or Michael Jackson. Everybody knows they're legendary performers. Or look at Britney Spears, everybody knows that she lip syncs (bad reputation). Memorable hits are usually a bit different from the rest, and a lot of big hits won't grand big gross - look at the Black Eyed Peas, who had hits as big as Gagas back in 2009-2010. And then there's developing your style, Gaga needs to keep this interesting persona she has. It makes her mysterious, with all the crazy outfits and performances, it's Gaga's iconic thing, and she needs to keep developing it imo. Australian dates go on sale 2 June, and Gaga has a 3-week long break after 3 June. Coincidence? I think not. I agree. A second Dubai date would be milking too hard and would not work out. I really wonder why they just don't do it. She's had 3 #1 hits this era in Spain 7327 tickets available for the Prague date

To be honest I don't have any problem with ARTPOP era, I know it's kinda hard for us to see her doing underperforming things (in charts, views or radio spins) comparing to her previous albums / tours BUT I'm pretty sure she didn't want to top charts with ARTPOP. She just wanted to do experimental things and above all do what she wanted to do ! And I'm kinda glad that she has done the album she wanted and earned decent money for this ! I think she must do something more commercial with her next record just to say 'Hey ! I told you I can writes big hits !' Her image needs it. Not really necessary now but a big hit album next era won't hurt for her career and her next tour. For that, she has to work with the good persons at the right time. And that was definitely not the case with ARTPOP.

Bowie 4
So guys, do you think she will continue the tour in 2015? Whilst I initially thought she might resume a revised tour after space performance and rest i.e begin June 2015, I'm hoping for some more festival dates followed by the start of a new tour in the autumn through summer 2016 ;) that way she visits the places missed out on this tour and revisits areas of high demand.
