I've been saying this sinc December. ArtRave will gross more than Katy's tour.

I remember like 3 months ago you were telling us to bookmark us, you were telling that Interscope was Interscope was pushing MANiCURE with iTunes payola in the US to make it have an easier start as third single release :toofloppy:

Katy might gross more. Katy has Australia with expensive tickets, but Gaga has the Middle East and North-East-Asia with VERY expensive tickets. We'll see.

I predict:

Istanbul - 6M USD gross

Dubai - 11M USD gross

Israel - 7M USD gross

Japan - 13M USD gross

Seoul - 5M USD gross

That's alone >> all US dates! But Katy will get ~50M USD from her Australian leg alone  :spin:

The 20/20 Experience World Tour will be the highest grossing tour for sure, One Direction's tickets are so cheap, and there's a lot of date that will not be sold out, incluiding all Brasil's dates and some dates in UK, Canadá and USA, and well, they just have 69 dates. With 10 mores dates, the artRAVE will be the second highest grossing tour of the year easily.

There is SO MUCH demand for One Direction tickets all over Europe. They could easily extend their European leg to 2015 with stadium dates all over Europe and they have a lot of demand in East-Asia too, they could do a BTWB-sized Asian leg in 2015. And then there's Australia too. And the Middle East. And countries like Greece. They could milk their tour so much, it's bound to outsell the S&S tour already.

So the Israel show is going to happen? I think it's still unconfirmed

It's yet to be confirmed, but there are STRONG rumors about a confirmation+announcement after Justin Timberlake's show in Israel [May 28] - in June, and tickets sale will start in June also. A big news website [mako] confirmed this information, and a lot of TV shows, including the news said that she's coming. so it's 80% yes.

Oh, by the way, have you heard about the newly added dates for Australia - 24 August in Melbourne and 31 August in Sydney? There were some rumors on LM.com and also these shows can be seen on Wikipedia, are they also confirmed already?

Yes but they annouced the tour 1 one year before the start

I'm still holding out on this theory too. Katy may have more dates, but her tickets are mega cheap, almost insultingly cheap. That's the only reason why she's had so much demand for second shows. And even so, I've heard that her second UK dates are struggling. And this is for an album that sold more than ARTPOP and had a #1 and a top 10 single. I doubt she'll go to Africa and South America, so the only regions left for her to add are Asia and continential Europe. She may have more demand in Asia this time, but it won't be of stadium level. Taylor Swift had a breakthrough in Asia but she's only doing one arena per country and I'm sure it'll be the same for Katy. Even at her peak, she had basically no tour demand in Asia and her only big hit there this era has been Roar and the album sales weren't huge, so I don't know if one hit single is enough to translate into ticket sales. And as for continental Europe, well, let's just say that Gaga's leg will absolutely SLAY Katy's. Katy has never been big in continental Europe and she still isn't. Her leg for her last tour was absolutely pathetic, 13 dates in 8 countries at miniscule venues and she couldn't even sell those out, with audiences as low at 4,008 and with grosses as low as $177,640. It'll be really interesting to see how the continental Europe market is going to be handled this time. Because it'll just be embarrasing for her to do such tiny venues for such tiny crowds even though she's got a bigger hit catalogue than last time.

You are so wrong.

Demand for Katy in Europe is much bigger than demand for Miley in Europe, who is having a nice European leg right now. Gaga only has Portugal (where Katy probs wont go), Barcelona (too big for Katy) and Athens (too big for any pop star, Capitol wont even bother). In all other countries, demand is bigger or as big for Katy as for Gaga. Remember, that Gaga's last European hit was Born This Way, while Katy's had smash hits Roar and Dark Horse. And of course Capitol will handle everything much better, especially in situations like France.

Personally I feel that if the 3rd London show sells out within the next few months, she should add a fourth London date at The SSE Arena. It's smaller capacity, and could come with the second round of UK dates to break things up a little. Maybe have it as a bit of a Christmas-themed show if she did it at the start of December?

However, if the 3rd O2 show doesn't show signs of selling out by say July/August, it's best to stick with 3 shows in the city.

Do you think she could get away with adding a second Italian date, maybe in Rome (PalaLottomatica) or Bologna (Unipol Arena)?

If not, it could be possible to fit in a show at the Arena di Verona (open-air Roman amphitheatre, it's beautiful :flutter: ) between Athens and Antwerp perhaps, or else one at the Arena of Nimes, Southern France, depending on Bercy sales.

Just my ramblings :flop: I think where possible she needs to milk the tour, but not too excessively.

North-Italy is the only 'rich' place in Italy with high population density. I don't think it's safe for Livenation to do a Rome date, because it just isn't very profitable unless she sells like Madonna does there.

About the London date, I think they tested whether there was demand by adding GA tickets to all cities in the UK about a month ago, and based on that added more dates in the UK. London 3rd isn't sold out yet, and the new tickets probably didn't sell well enough for them to say 'there's demand for a fourth date!'

I'm actually fine with Live Nation, I think they manage Gaga's tour well, unlike her record label with her singles/albums...
