ViviLittleM 3
PRISM was bigger than ARTPOP in China (incl. Hong Kong), the Philippines, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia (and Thailand) and about as big in South Korea. Receipts? PRISM certified gold in China, ARTPOP not certified. Dark Horse, Roar and Unconditionally are Top 50 Spotify most streamed last week in Hong Kong (#2, #21, #49 respectively), Malaysia (#2, #25, #39), Singapore (#4, #24, #45), Taiwan (#5, #19, -) while Applause is not in the Top 50 in any of those countries. PRISM left the Top 100 albums at the same time as ARTPOP in Japan (although ARTPOP is more successful in Japan..) On KKBOX, East-Asia's largest streaming service, Katy has in: Singapore: Roar #16 and #98, Dark Horse #18 and Unconditionally #27 Malaysia: Roar #25, DH #30 and Unconditionally #64 Taiwan: Roar #14, Unconditionally #48 and Dark Horse #60 Hong Kong: Roar #31, Dark Horse #41 and Unconditionally #57 On iTunes in the Philippines, Roar was #1 for weeks and weeks while Applause failed to do so. On Last.fm Indonesia, Katy has three Top 150 entries while Gaga has one. Roar outsold Applause in South Korea. Enough receipts to show you that the PRISM era is bigger in East-Asia (besides Japan)? And yeah, it's been like this all the time. Gaga has the benefit of the BTW era being huge, but the ARTPOP era, just like in other countries, wasn't big in East-Asia and she decayed a lot. She sold 99k tickets with the BTWB in Japan, and now is selling 30k tickets and has yet to sell the stadium out. If the decline is just as big in other countries, she can only do one arena in most countries she went to with the BTWB, while Katy could probably pull of the same (or better?) Katy went in China for promo
Luc 4,775
Katy went in China for promo Another reason why she'd probably do better. It's not Katy's fault she does promo. It's Gaga's (and her team's, her manager's) fault that she doesn't do promo. Could've gone to China, The Philippines, South Korea (inflating WW sales ), Taiwan for promotion and done more promotion in Japan, but nope. Now the ARTPOP era has lost momentum, she could announce tourdates and promote off of the momentum that'd give her Only benefits Gaga has is that her team is more likely to make the ticket prices high than Katy's team, that the BTW era was HUGE, that she already has a (upper-class mostly?) fanbase and that she's toured there before. Hopefully her team won't overestimate Gaga's touring power in Asia like everybody else does in this thread. She'd need BIG promo to sell big. I'd say come back with a different album next year and tour there after promoting the album and tour big time. That way it's actually useful. She has the potential to do tourdates as big as Michael Jackson's BAD tour (or was it the HIStory tour?), besides the Japanese dates tho :dead: , if her music there gets as successful as the BTW era was there. Bt1 5,213
I really agree that she needs a COMPLETE asian leg. :dead: Seoul, Taipei, Manila, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Jakarta are waiting for her. Even if I know that the tour would be cancelled in Indonesia and Malaysia For Japan, she should have put a date in Yokohama, at Yokohama Arena (~15k). It's small but sure the demand should've been higher because people prefers arenas Then, add extra shows and do 3 shows there or more... Yokohoma is 30 m from Tokyo. At best she could have done something in Osaka. I am not too confident about so many dates in Asia, but she could definetelly have more than one. Luc 4,775
If the ARTPOP era had been as big as the BTW era in East-Asia and the tour was also properly promoted through commercials, buses, etc.: 19+20 November - Suphachalasai Stadium - Bangkok, Thailand - 30k (2x) - avg 80$/ticket 23 November - New Singapore National Stadium - (Kallang) Singapore, Singapore - 50k - avg 130$/ticket 25, 26 November - Stadium Merdeka - KL, Malaysia - 20k (2x) - avg 80$/ticket 28 November - Zhongshan Soccer Stadium - Taipei, Taiwan - 40k - avg 100$/ticket 30 November - Chungcheng Stadium - Kaosiung, Taiwan - 35k - avg 85$/ticket 4 December - Olympic Stadium - Seoul, SK - 70k - avg 90$/ticket 7 December - Philippine Arena - Bulacan, The Philippines - 50k - avg 80$/ticket (upperclass provence near Manila) 9 December - Shenzhen Universiade Sports Centre - Guangzhou, China (next to Hong Kong) - 50k - avg 100$/ticket 10 December - Shenzhen Universiade Sports Centre - Guangzhou, China - 50k - avg 100$/ticket 13 December - Workers Stadium - Beijing, China - 50k - avg 90$/ticket 15 December - Shanghai Stadium - Shanghai, China - 66.666 - avg 100$/ticket 17, 20 December - Tokyo Dome - Tokyo, Japan - 50k (2x) - avg 120$/ticket 22, 23 December - Osaka Stadium - Osaka, Japan - 30k (2x) - avg 100$/ticket 26, 28 December - Fukuoka Dome - Fukuoka, Japan - 35k (2x) - avg 100$/ticket this would ultimately have: 791.666 atttendees 77,9M USD gross But because the ARTPOP era didn't do well in Asia, she's doing: August 13, 2014 Tokyo Japan Chiba Marine Stadium 30k attendees 5M USD gross slay

It's just the matter of time, either now or in 2015... ;) She shouldn't in 2014, hopefully she'll release an album late 2014/early 2015 and with the momentum from the space performance, momentum from the lead single smash and of course promotion she should be able to do a big leg in East-Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America again. I'd say Australia doesn't deserve Gaga though.

Luc 4,775
I see you __________ #JusticeForAsia She needs to promote everywhere tbh why not? Imagine if Gaga could just do one promo spot every two days and didn't have a tour coming up.. Europe: Germany - 10 april Netherlands - 12 april France - 14 april Spain - 16 april Italy - 18 april Sweden - 20 april Denmark - 22 april Germany - 24 april France - 26 april Germany - 28 april May - promote in the UK Something like the European promo for Unconditionally

Arturo 40,746
I honestly think it was a mistake to make Gaga's cheapest tickets $35.... I mean, at least $60 JT's back section tickets are $100 in some venues
Arizonadream777 184
Has this been updated recently ? Are these the latest sales? And what's wrong with $35 seats? Did I miss something?

Well they're really cheap and that leads to a small tour gross.
