God some of you are so stupid it's embarrassing. It's such a striking, beautiful photograph but all you can talk about is her ****ing pubic hair  Does anyone know what this picture is for? Is that a real magazine?

HORRORHOLIC

There's a difference between casually talking about finding it s-xy when women shave or commenting on a photo of your supposed idol saying she SHOULD have shaved and that you prefer shaved "anyway". I'd love to see how you react when you take a nude photo (in an artistic setting or not) and we'd all start making "cute" comments about how ugly your genitals look - and you're male, you're not even the victim of systemic, pervasive oppression and objectification like women have been for thousands and thousands of years.

WOW lol, this is obviously a big issue with you. 1st of all, I never once said she "SHOULD" have shaved, that's completely up to her. I did say I thought she looked better in all the pictures/videos I've seen where she has shaved. And what's wrong with saying that ? I see no difference saying that than if someone said they prefer Gaga with short hair, or blonde hair, or commented how they like one hairstyle or wig or over another.

As for me saying I prefer shaved anyway, are you telling me I have no right to state my opinion ? or that no male should have that right ? I guess all of us males should just never get haircuts, grow huge bushy beards for years and when females complain about that or the food getting stuck in it we should be as offended as you are. Seriously, calm down!!

yes it's a real magazine, and my guess is it's another tribute to Marina Abramović

Very unnecessary.

Sorry if I offended you but it was intended as a joke :manicure:

I clearly understand its a woman's choice to shave or not shave and having pubic hair is natural.

I don't like her nude pic anymore because we have seen too much of it...

I'd like her to show all of her creativity through beautiful clothes

There's a difference between casually talking about finding it s-xy when women shave or commenting on a photo of your supposed idol saying she would be s-xier if she had shaved and that you prefer shaved "anyway". I said you do not have the right to dictate what women should do with their own bodies, not that you can't have preferences or even that you can't make those insensitive comments people should consider keeping to themselves. But comments like yours (especially with the "should" vibe you put in there) are endemic to our society and lean very much toward the former (dictating). Free speech about your preferences is fine and all, but don't expect women to go cheer you on when you're literally saying "I think you're not desirable unless you do x to your body". Apparently you don't see how demeaning and how assholish that is?

This, of course, goes for all the people in this thread acting like she's abnormal for having hair down there. Most of whom, incidentally, are male.

Thank you.

Yes, as a woman and a women's rights advocate who fights against misogyny every single day this is an "issue" for me (albeit one of thousands because our culture is shameful when it comes to women). And I have since edited my comment to reflect my position more clearly - I know you did not literally say "should" but the vibe and insinuation were there. Again, state your preferences, make insensitive or thoughtful comments all you want - just know that commenting like that (completely uninvited) on an open forum about a woman is not equivalent to stating your preferences in private. Women are objectified 24/7 so it's not an even playing field out there in the sense that your attitude and the way you present it wouldn't hurt anybody - in fact, it very much does hurt women's agency. But your privilege blinds you to that. The hair color argument is ridiculous and your s-xual preferences don't even bear any relevance to the topic at hand (an artistic photo) so why even mention it?

Again, this goes for not just you but to all those men here commenting rude things about her having hair down there. Hair, by the way, that exists for a reason and protects women's bodies from micro-bacterial infections. It was not created for your pleasure. The fact that you're saying this about a woman with a long history of body issues is just icing on the cake.

By the way, stop the mansplaining. Telling me to calm down and making comparisons with women being offended by men growing beards (?!) is getting embarrassing.
