The music has become secondary to the circus. It gets rather boring to see these artists try to "shock" people into buying their songs. As opposed to competiing to be cutestprettiest or most over the top melismatic oversinging. No harm in a few stunts. Not like anyone would be writing songs like Bob Dylan anyway.
