Whispering 18,865
Oh God What can be done to save this era? Get a third hit single and have a successful tour!
Whispering 18,865
That's what I WAS SAYING, don't have to skip SNL but just the performance of DWUW I'd trade for the Video I'm sorry I misunderstood your OP about the SNL performance. I agree with this part of your statement. SNL is more about the promo of the artist, as a whole, instead of individual songs.
Luc 4,775
...and in the end, my friend/source was right, and the video WAS being re-worked. It's interesting, though, because someone made a thread in rumors on it and it got closed down by a mod saying 'they got confirmation it's not true'. And then LM.com letters began... Mods 'confirmed' that you were fake somehow but we still don't have proof it's being re-worked, right?

Luc 4,775
Get a third hit single and have a successful tour! Hopefully. In a perfect world, Gaga releases ARTPOP as third single, performs it at GRAMMYs and BRITs with Elton John and releases a remix with him right afterwards, releases physical single in as many countries as possible, releases a lyric video in 2 weeks, makes the single pre-order and remix EP pre-order (I have an amazing idea for this by the way, will explain below) and does numerous talkshows. I'm here for the fourth studio album coming out Autumn 2016 by the way. Elections are then, so talkshows/late night shows should have a lot more impact and then she can do inaguration ball and Super Bowl and yeah So, the idea I have with Remix EPs: 1. Make them available for pre-order for a very low price ($3.69 for the whole EP?), hype the remixes and talk about a few of the remixes. The pre-order should be available about a month before the release. 2. Release 7 promo singles the week that the video is out, to maximize sales let's say 20k people in the US pre-ordered it, 7*20k = 140k extra sales for the single 3. Complete my album next week
VenusDreams 21
I really think a music video at this point will have very little positive effect for DWUW. I'm hoping Gaga and her team realize this and are focusing their energy and resources into delivering an amazing era for single #3. :)
LaXian 25
I have a feeling we're getting the video soon ... But not Gaga's soon... My soon ... I think it's seriously make or break now ... I don't mind waiting but It's time Goddess Of Love ... It's time ...
Luc 4,775
Music videos haven't done much for singles lately. don't get your hopes high Music Video effects still exist and are very big, tbh. A video effect isn't simply the song rising after the release, it's stabilizing at a higher position, getting more worth-of-mouth promotion, controversy, news articles. Also, the stabilizing at a higher position on iTunes contributes to more airplay which contributes to a higher iTunes position and more worth of mouth -> more airplay
Bt1 5,213
It isn't and I agree with you, they have a role- just not (usually) to the extent that you are saying they have. Like performances, there can be special cases that happen rarely. One video, for a second single no less, definitely shouldn't be "traded" for a PRIME promo opportunity like hosting AND being the musical guest on SNL at the beginning of your album era. Any music executive or PR person would tell you that! A single video will hardly ever do what long term radio support can do. The RARE exceptions being something like Gangam Style. Only in the case of these types of once or twice in a year anomalies do you see videos being more important than radio play. A "good video" is never going to equal good radio play. It may work that way in your country (IDK?), but it doesn't work that way here. Tell me. How do explain that Uncounditionally is stable even if radio keeps drop it? How about Adore you? Why is it higher than Dwuw with so little radio support and no performances? When you talk about videos, you seem to only be able to see the effect on some huge videos like Gangam style or Wrecking ball. But outside of that rare exceptions how you call them, there is a normal effect that most of the videos have. If the videos werent that important, executives, PR persons or labels wouldnt make them. The videos are so important at the moment, that the labels and executives invented a new for of videos : lyrics videos. I dont know if radio support is more important or not. I know that we saw some huge hits in the last years that werent that important on radio, but I dont remmeber anything more than some moderate hits made by the radio. Luc 4,775
Yeah, the impact of videos is undeniable. Work Bitch stayed like #25 the whole time without radio support, why? Because of its video.
VenusDreams 21
My bones hurt...from requesting DWUW on radio stations these last few months. I'm not going to request it anymore because I don't feel like Gaga is 100% behind the single herself

I'm not going to request it anymore because I don't feel like Gaga is 100% behind the single herself Same, I don't think it's smart tbh. Applause pretty much ruined DWUW's beginning on radio stations, and Roar did that for Unconditionally too. I think it's better for the next single for DWUW to fall down now and not get a video anymore. But if they do want to keep pushing DWUW, the third single should be released in March. Valextra 58
I'm feeling like Gaga was on break after a complete 'era' and tour.
Jjang 2,262
Music videos haven't done much for singles lately. don't get your hopes high Adore You jumped 50+ spots on iTunes because of the video...they still impact, who knows maybe the video is really really good? (I'm trying to remain positive lol) 74. ARTPOP I counted them. 29 new releases today. *Why is it not discounted though? she doesn't even have a song in the top 30, this makes no sense.
