The public doesn't use ARTPOP

They're more here for Venus than that

:wtf: well yes, but truth is, only people who like Gaga enough to give the album know about songs such as ARTPOP, Venus and Gypsy. I don't think that iTunes sales and such are a good indicator of what the General Public actually likes. People who like Gaga anyways are more likely to like ( :derpga:like my post?) songs such as Gypsy and Sexxx Dreams because they're typical Gaga songs, and look a little bit like previous songs such as The Edge of Glory and Marry the Night. At least, that's what I think.

How is the iTunes position a good representation of the GP if most of those sales are from casual fans?

And yaaas Venus, ARTPOP and Aura the holy trinity of ARTPOP :legend: single #4, #3 and #5 respectively :legend:

How big of a mess and meltdown is this thread?

You're so 2000 and late :fan:

I didn't say the iTunes position was an indicator

Programmers aren't going to add a song about "hybrids withstanding these things" to their playlists but they sure would add one with lyrics like "I don't wanna be alone forever but I can be tonight"

i understand but who would've thought a song about IV's, fame, gongs, koons and pop culture would be such a hit. If the songs good it would do fine regardless unless it has crappy execution.

Just like they don't add a song about "one second I'm a Koons then suddenly the Koons is me" or "Pop Culture was in Art now Art's in Pop Culture in me" right? :fan:

And didn't most of you guys say DWUW would smash? :fan:

Radio had to play Applause. It was Top 5 on iTunes at the time despite lukewarm reception at first.

The next few singles aren't going to be magically in the Top 5 prompting radios to add them to their playlists.

Yall don't understand that Radio won't give songs like ARTPOP and Venus a chance to begin with ... How are the songs going to smash ? With a weird video and no radio exposure ?  Applause that is generic as **** peaked at 130M AI ...  Katy's avarage peak on radio is 100M AI ...

Exactly .. If Applause was out of top 10 on Itunes It would've peaked at 55M Ai. . .  It took the song being stable in top 5 for 10 days for the radio to start giving it a chance again ...

DWUW was about to go top 10, let's not act like like the song flopped from Itself .. And another question is that the song can still go top 10...    And just because a radio friendly song is flopping doesn't mean that Venus will slay, It means that Gaga has no chance.

*This. but 130.8m AI is very good :awkney:

It means that GenericGa stands no chance. Applause may have been generic, but it still felt experimental in some way. Perhaps because it was released at the same time as songs such as Roar and Wrecking Ball, but it doesn't feel generic which DWUW does.

And radio isn't the reason DWUW is pretty much flopping. The video isn't either, look at Unconditionally's video effect. The promo isn't either, she performed the song 4 times in the UK and 3 times in the US and also had a commercial air in the US. Radio isn't the reason DWUW's underperforming so much; it's Top 10 on radio, but like #31 on Pop bars.
