Back in 2012 the lead-single was supposed to make us pee our pants while hearing it and, according to DJWS, it was produced by a female. Sexxx Dreams surely isn't the type of song that makes you pee your pants, nor is Applause. Venus is said to be one of the latest songs that were recorded for the album. I wonder if it got scrapped, or if she keeps it for ACT II Yeah i have been thinking this too. Maybe they thought of giving Gaga credits for producer for whatever single was choosen? Are some ppl deaf or what? Saying that it would flop hard as a lead single makes no sense since it's much more interesting than Applause. Then it's better to end the era in pursuit of preparing for the supposed release of ACT 2. Two consecutive non-top 10 entries could be considered as a hint that the public is simply not here for it. I think it was supposed to be the lead single back in 2012 ("We Could Belong Together ARTPOo" post on LM.com, ARTPOP played in car, 'lead single will make you pee your pants', "A hybrid can withstand these things" post on LM.com). didn't she specifically say it wasn't the lead at the time? The only strong point I'd rather have her release a second act and/or a re-release for ARTPOP is for the possibility of its sales being combined with what we've right now, in the same manner on how TFM was included to TF's worldwide sales. Otherwise, she might open a risk to have two consecutive albums to not reach at least 2x platinum on the Billboard 200 chart. That's the least thing I'd want at this moment. "Lady Gaga tries to make up for ARTPOP failure by making ARTPOP #2!" Those are the kind of things that will be popping up. Of course, this only applies if the 3rd single fails.
