It probably would have been better as a bonus track on a deluxe version of the CD. Still, most albums have diverse songs that pull from multiple influences, with multiple writers, producers and collaboraters and most CDs have one or two songs that cause a "WTF is this" reaction at first. Personally, I find that interesting! The diversity of the album is not the problem. It needed a lot of things, and will continue to need promotion, including a good third single. Well, I think that it is a part of the problem. And perhaps in the future Gaga needs to make shorter albums anyways. TFM had 8 perfect tracks, 21 has 12 tracks. It's not necessary to have 15~18 tracks in my opinion. PRISM would've been much better with less tracks, same with ARTPOP. And then she'd have more material for the App too. If that was the problem, we would have see it then, not now. The problem now is the mess that was Dwuw era. Applause was a fight that was won, especially in US. Everybody was interested to see whats next and the first responses for Dwuw were great. But we are 3 months from that moment. Lets not look in the past. Lets look in the present. Coupled with the Alejandro video and the BTW focus, it came at a time when conservatives in the US were losing control over the things they hold dear. They are pissed as hell that a black man is in The White House, that gay marriage is becoming legal, and that the liberals and the minorities are the now majority. They are losing hold. When men in power lose control, they strike out at the weak in society- because they can. That included women and all minorities during Obama's first term and during this past presidential election. They are preaching the hate in their homes and in their churches. Gaga made the LGBT cause her focus during a time when people were pissed off. Gaga was a strong, extremely influential woman, pushing, pushing for something they hated. Plus, most people thought the meat dress was pretty gross. There's a difference in arriving in an egg and wearing raw meat. :eek: It isn't just one thing, is the point, there are many things put together to form a general perception. DWUW has more consense from italian public, infact I repeat it was at 1 on airplay in our most important radio, I am sure that if DWUW was the first single it would been better in sales terms..Maybe you ate right Still DWUW is a very safe song to become the first Lady Gaga single in my opinion. Even if the video was too hot, or too simply, it would have been better be out 2 months ago, because now it could be too late for the success of the song, and she waited too much time, because for a new single she definitely to do another video ecc.
