craig 680
So we now came to the opinion that ARTPOP is a not so great album. So please all you music critics, tell me. Why would you buy Prism, Bangers, Beyonce, Pure Heroine or anything else that was released this year instead of ARTPOP? ^^^ Most artists have cycles of popularity, hype, backlash. Often if they've been around decades like Kylie or Madonna, you look back and the stuff they did when out of fashion is just as good as those moments when everything was gold to the public. craig 680
But really, why isn't she doing anything now? It's not like Katy and Lorde have been doing crazy promo for DH and Team the past month that made them rise in charts. Gaga did normal promo for big artist in Nov-Dec, but around Xmas and early January everyone is in a lull.

Why would you buy Prism, Bangers, Beyonce, Pure Heroine or anything else that was released this year instead of ARTPOP? ^^^ ARTPOP hasn't been my fave from the very beginning But why would I buy Prism, Bangers etc instead of ARTPOP? I'm GP now: well, HUGE first singles with viral videos, promo being on point- I see Katy, Miley etc every day everywhere, just generally good and relatable pop music (just good, not something like TFM was that would sell like crazy). I, personally, would NEVER buy these albums of course. But I think one big problem with Gaga is/was also that cause there's no manager besides other problems, then selling the theme of ARTPOP kinda failed. It was so messy and people didn't seem to get the point and the true meaning of this album at all. It was not executed well, Gaga was on her own and there was no help that your manager usually is there for when it comes to things like these. At least now we know the reasons why the start of this era (promo and all other stuff) was the way it was...

Valextra 58
The majority of music buyers, i.e. most people (the GP) don't spend their days on the Internet reading headlines about Gaga. They listen to the radio, watch TV, and if they like a song they buy the music. Gaga is not being bought as much as other artists. She's not very popular. People have been telling me: "what happened to Gaga? She's not famous anymore..." And I don't think I'm the only one who's experienced this. And her insisting on going on blackouts is not helping things. Sadly this happened to me too, especially in the last days while I visited my old friends during the holidays, when Gaga argument came out they said to me:'Is it true that she flopped with her new record? Where is she?' And stuff like that.. I explain to them the real situation, but for sure in this era, she didn't have the same spotlight of the last eras, at least for now. Why would you buy Prism, Bangers, Beyonce, Pure Heroine or anything else that was released this year instead of ARTPOP? ^^^ Because those albums have great singles, they're likeable - they're all about the same (sub)genre while on ARTPOP you have J&D (trap/urban), MANiCURE (pop rock/trap), GUY (pure dance pop), DOPE (ballad), DWUW (Pop/R&B), Swine (pure EDM), Aura (Complextro, little bit of middle-eastern influence). Everything on ARTPOP is so different, it's almost impossible to like everything because it differs so much from eachother. Sadly this happened to me too, especially in the last days while I visited my old friends during the holidays, when Gaga argument came out they said to me:'Is it true that she flopped with her new record? Yeah, the media is telling people that Gaga's flopping. My brother, a Miley stan, keeps telling that Gaga is the biggest flop of 2013, that ARTPOP flopped and that she's not popular anymore. But when I say ARTPOP outsold Bangerz, he says that that's not true and that Miley is much more successful right now.

Why would you buy Prism, Bangers, Beyonce, Pure Heroine or anything else that was released this year instead of ARTPOP? ^^^ In my opinions ARTPOP still remains one of the best pop albums of the last times... They only made bad choises about it... For example, I love 'Applause', but for me it wasn't immediate, at first time I didn't like it, now I love it, one of her best song, but I needed time, and I know a lot of people that didn't like it immediately and lost interest, in my opinion for example for the first single of comeback she needed to play something more 'easy listen' to catch the attention in a big way... If that's her choice I support her, but lart of being a pop artist is being in the public eye almost 24/7 when you're promoting your new release. Maybe she's trying to change the pop landscape again but that's not working. Few are here for her this time around. Unconditionally was playing on the radio earlier today at the car and I was with my mum and we talked about Katy and Gaga and she ended saying "Lady Gaga is over" :megaflop: I thought she was a Little Monster tho, #fakestan

Everything on ARTPOP is so different, it's almost impossible to like everything because it differs so much from eachother. And that's exactly the reason I also can't fully enjoy ARTPOP. Call me mainstream lover and boring if you want because of that... I love Gaga's artistry and all, but I can't do anything about it that I love more coherent, consistent albums. I'm a pop music lover...I don't like music like J&D at all, even when it's Gaga singing the song. I know and love her as a pop artist.

She needs to concentrate on these things more.
Valextra 58
For example another thing that my friends always told to me in the last times that they were expecting something better for the VMA performance, and to be honest they didn't have wrong at all, the VMA perfromance was brilliant, very well done, but it didn't have the same 'icon factor' of the paparazzi one, or Grammys egg, or others for example... I think that maybe Gaga has really did a lot of brilliant stuff in the past that is really hard to go beyond and do better and a lot of people have a big expectations... For not talking about the italian gay blogs in general, they loved Gaga, and also them in this era started to drag her because they didn't like her new stuff... I think it's a period like Madonna or Mariah had in the past after a lot of big success, I am sure that Gaga will have in the future her 'Ray of Light', 'Confessions', 'Emancipation..', for sure. Mills 446
The height of her popularity has long gone, similar to what happened to the careers of the artists before her. The cycle of fame simply passed by. However, it doesn't mean that she's completely irrelevant at this point. Irrelevant in terms of being not popular at all. A single which did rather well and an album which has sold more than a million in three months time aren't enough to dismiss Gaga's relevance. The third single might. And hopefully, we'd get a runaway hit with that one.
