The DWUW video will join the list of Gaga's videos that didn't reach 100m views.

Its potential views are already lost.

Lady Gaga - Do What U Want (Audio) ft. R. Kelly

ByLadyGagaVEVO

This audio has more potential to be VEVO certifed (if an audio can be certifed) than the DWUW video.  :toofunny:

Brave is way better than Roar. The lyrics of Sara Bareilles fuk Katy's

It really is! Every time I hear Brave on the radio, a quick thought runs through my head that says "I like Roar now, these lyrics are really good" then I'm like...Oh wait, this is Brave. lol

The audio will probably end up with more views than the actual video (if it exists) by the end of DWUW's run (which is close anyway)

Nope, I'm not. Music Industry studies report that the majority of single sales come from radio and that radio listeners buy a song after hearing from hearing it multiple times on the radio. (not from viewing a video)

The majority of these people do not have time, nor do they have the desire, to search out videos of the songs they hear. THEY DON"T CARE! They don't want to see the person's video, they just like the song. If hit songs meant there had to be a hit video, and vice versa, then ALL of Rihanna's songs would have gone #1. She wouldn't have any flops, and she has had many.

All the top 5 songs of the past would also have the top 5 views on their videos. One Direction would have a multitude of top 5 hits. Songs that were in the top 10 wouldn't have low view counts on their videos. It's all too inconsistent.

Videos have their role in the big game. Why this is so hard to admit for you? :toofunny: I would say that a video is more important than radio support. Of course, it must be a good video first.

DWUW is freefalling and radio has suddenly stopped playing the song.

SNL was not a performance. Gaga was the host/musical guest. SNL has major pop culture significance in the US, especially in certain audience groups- some that Gaga would have trouble ever reaching, much less getting them to watch a random video for a second single.

You never know what a performance or video may or may not do. Depends on the song, the performance, the audience and the video. Some videos, like some performances, don't do much, if anything, for a song. Some performances are like Blurred Lines on The Voice or Stay at The Grammys. Some videos are like WB. Sometimes no one pays attention to either. The very best exposure for good songs is radio play and commercials. Past that, it's a toss up, you never know what will work or won't and to what extent.

That's what I WAS SAYING, don't have to skip SNL but just the performance of DWUW I'd trade for the Video :toofunny:

Of course you never know what will work but a Video is more important than a performance.  Another question is that a performance may make a song huge and the same goes for video, but apart from that a video is just more Important.
