the video is too late imo. and if it's not a groundbreaking video, i don't think it will do anything for the song. Maybe in countries where DWUW is top 10 or close, but not the US where the song is in the 30 unfortunately.

i hope i'm wrong

I still dont understand the comparasion. Applause was top 10 in the first 2 months or more.

Yes but it was freefalling before the video and VMAS and also don't forget that Applause was constantly compared with Roar that was smashing and fans wouldn't compromise with nothing less than a #1. So when the song reached #7 on iTunes many said that Gaga should abandon Applause and release the second single. Many called it a buzz single :smh: Since then noone believed in Applause but Applause proved everybody wrong. DWUW is top 25 on iTunes combined and it still doesn't have a video. So the era is only half-done and also don't forget that the world isn't the US.

But Applause was the lead single, which a lot of people, even non-fans, were waiting for. I don't think DWUW will be able to pull what Applause did. She's already had MAJOR promo spots for this song that have barely kept it in the top 20, and now it's in the mid 30's. Unless the video is extremely controversial or something crazy it's not going to be enough

Thank you. At the moment, I cant stand false reasons why Dwuw is underperforming. Its not R Kelly. Its the video.

In general it's the video and the bad timetables in my opinion, the times are totally wrong... But sure now I don't think that the video could help the song a lot, a little bit for sure, but after 3 months the song now is normal that is falling, too much time it's passed.. Even the remix with a big star like Xtina and a perfromance with 14 millions of viewers didn't help the song...

I also remember when everybody were sure (me too) that after 'The Voice' the song would have reached the top10...

We need to accept the situation, the reality, and sadly it's not good for now.

I am scared about the album sales in the next weeks without nothing on chart.

Even though I don't think it'll help too much at this point, I still want the video :crossed:

Me too, the second single of an importnat album without a video, it's a shame.

Even Britney latest album has a video for the second single.

The thing with The Voice was that people were wanting DWUW ft. Xtina, not R. Kelly. They should've had a studio version ready to be released right after. If she performed with R. Kelly on The Voice I think the song would've had a better chance at top 10.

DWUW doesn't need to fight as much as Applause tbh, it can easier become a hit. Think that the song has already sold almost 800k and that it has a remix and we are in the first quarter of the year when single sales are very big. With the video DWUW can easily become x2 platinum and do much better than Applause WW. It will be a sizable and iconic hit. Then Gaga can move on to the 3rd single with no flops or moderate hits in the era, with much more monumentum and a much more lengthy era, which means more time for the album to sell. There is no reason for us to hurry. The era that we have been all waiting for so long is happening and you constantly think how to make it move faster.
