Mackelmore and Mumford and Sons are two indie artists that have not had to comprimise because they are with independent labels and it has really played to their advantage. I'm not necessarily in the camp that thinks Gaga should leave Interscope. Because, frankly, I don't think Gaga knows how to promote herself anymore. At all. I'll never question her artistically. But definitely when it comes to promotion. However, I do think the labels make a lot of mistakes and short-sighted, reactionary decisions. I mean... just look at this whole DWUW mess. Imagine how differently this whole era could have gone if DWUW was the planned single from the beginning and the video was ready. If they were even considering DWUW as the second single, they should have prepared more. In the end, I place fairly equal blame on Interscope and Gaga for the lack of a video right now.
