She's not winning the GP back with a song. That's impossible she has to win back the GP bit by bit by improving her brand/image. The only way that she'll be 'cool' again for a while is if DWUW becomes a smash on Urban radio. But how do you even measure whether an artist has won the GP back? A smash single? And what signifies a loss of the GP? A flop single? So Katy strengthened her hold of the GP with Roar and lost them with Unconditionally? Obviously not. We can't really say Gaga has "lost the GP" or she hasn't gained them back. We cannot conclude based one single alone. I believe the safest thing to say would be when there's a consistency of underwhelming poor reception among an artist's singles or (worse) albums in a relatively long period of time. Talyor Swift did it for real with her last album I think when one of her track was sent to radios when it already crossed the million mark. There is so much anti-pop and anti-female sentiment. By the time they've been around 15-20 years and a significant number of adults recognize them as icons, they're no longer cool with the kids. I always find it very funny when people are saying ' She needs to win back the GP / the GP isnt here for here anymore'. How do you guys mesure the '''GP'''' ?
