Hm, Beyonce's album is innovative tbh. Not in the music, but in everything else.

1. Video for every song

2. No lead single

3. No announcement beforehands

4. You hear the whole album at once, with no expectations, no snippets beforehands, you dont know anything about the album yet and you haven't heard any song yet.

She really succeeded in making it about the album and making everybody listen to the album in the way she intended it to be listened to, which Gaga didn't succeed in. Gaga did exactly the oppsite, because with Gaga you have:

1. only one video - for Applause (so far)

2. 4 full songs released before the album, including 2 official singles.

3. an announcement of the album 2 years beforehands

4. heard the whole album before listening to it - commercials, snippets, SwineFest, singles, promo singles, leaks, sneak peaks, instructions, Gaga talking a lot about the album.

And next to that, Gaga also failed in:

1. Making the album experience

2. Bringing art in pop culture

3. Making the App an interactive experience

4. Living up to the hype of herself and her fans.

5. Making the album a piece, it rather feels like 15 songs made throughout Gaga's career that never got released that have been put together, presented as a full album with theme.

And Gaga did hype and talk that the album would have the above 5.

That's a difference between ARTPOP and Beyonce. ARTPOP is almost exactly the opposite of Beyonce for me, and Beyonce actually succeeded in making the album an experience - a memorable one.

This post is so negative, but it does explain my disappointment with ARTPOP and why I like Beyonce a lot, and why the public and critics and stans like Beyonce a lot more too. There's nothing disappointing in Beyonce.

She just bought the instrumental for Aura tho :flop:  ARTPOP is messy and yeah as a whole It's not that good album ... and The Critics won't just bash the album so much just because of Gaga, after giving her other albums 70+ ... I guess they really didn't like the music ..

And how is Gaga showing her vision clearly in ARTPOP ?

What is J&D about and the most important thing how It even fits in the whole ARTPOP theme ?

What about Donatella ? ( i love it but still..)   Venus is great but the lyrics have 0 meaning...

There should've been more songs like ARTPOP on the album ( And I am sure that at first It was supposed to be like that, until Troy started messing Gaga's plans)

I am gonna repeat this again - Gaga said that the songs are longer just 2 months before the album release and that are not made for radio .. then suddenly all of the tracks are less than 4 minutes ..  This alone shows that there were major changes in Gaga's creative plans shortly before the album release ...

And another thing for Gaga and Troy to split (probably the most successful collab between Artist and Manager for the last 5-10 years .. or maybe we can add Justin Bieber and his manager also, but still) there happened something really big between them ....

not you posting my words 1 min before me :applause:

The issues that you are pointing out on ARTPOP though Mariano  exist on all Lady Gaga albums. Bad Romance doesn't have lyrics with meaning like Venus. What has Judas and Bloody Mary to do with BTW. What has SHICD and Telephone to do with TFM. Let's not even talk about the Fame. The meaning of ARTPOP is much more general and these songs fit much better there than the songs I mentioned above. And what if the songs were meant to be longer? What if Gaga didn't like the result and she scrapped the longer songs vision. All I want to say is that this is just you opinion and nothing more and mne is just my opinion and nothing more. The critics have given strict reviews to some of the biggest masterpieces and they have given good reviews to pure trash. In the end there isn't only one truth.

I was going to quote myself to responce before I saw that u already did that :laughga:

It was clearly that the whole theme milked somewhere through the process and that's the thing I hate because this trully could have been Gaga at her best but she let them to mess with her every song is like cut .... and what's up with Swine being autotuned on Ke$ha levels and that iconic guitar intro being cut.

Hope Act 2 trully shows the potential of ARTPOP :cryga:

Exactly. I blame Interscope for all of this, and Troy. ARTPOP is the best song of Gaga's career, the rest of the album is just... all about s-x tbh. Venus does have a meaning, it's all about an orgasm/s-x: just look at the way Gaga described the chorus before its release. I really want Gaga to go to Columbia or whatever that label is called. Artists seem to have even more artistic freedom there.

ARTPOP is the only Gaga album being trashed and It's her lowest selling album for now, THis is Turth, our opinions are not, you are right.

And at least Bloody Mary and Judas are ****ing masterpieces whereas  J&D was obviously added on the album for commercial purposes ..  Aura is a mess, Venus is a mess, J&D Is a mess ..

And I have the feeling that Troy choose Applause just so he can show Gaga that she can flop or something, only that can explain him wanting Gaga to make commercial music, and then choosing Applause as the lead single because "all songs were good" wait, what the **** is that contradiction ?  They split because Troy didn't like her songs, but when he was choosing the lead single he said that all of the songs were good and that's why he choose the last song (Applause)  ...  EVERYTHING about the ARTPOP era is messy and there are a lot of contradictions like the one I just stated ...

I'm even more disappointed with ARTPOP now after I experienced a campaign as flawless as Beyoncé was able to manage.

I would be okay with that if ARTPOP serves musically. :flop:

Excuse me but Aura, Venus and Applause are in my top 10 favorite lady Gaga songs ever so you can understand that I can't agree with this in no way. J&D is commercial but Gag hasn't done something like this before so it's accepted, at least for me.. Beyonce album is pure beyonce recycled music, form start to the bottom so let's not...

Judas was about overcoming ur demons similar to MTN and BM was about living halfway btw reality and fantasy that like the biggest themed song on BTW (album) apart from the title track it represents the whole cover and her vision of it.

And it was true that telephone was Britney left over but at least Gaga backed the song with great visuals and concept and made iconic video.

Mariano was saying that u can't hype ur album being artisting revolution in the music world, saying that it is reverse warholian experience and then put song like J&D on it it just so clearly that the label wanted features on the labum so it could match more audience interest.
