But after the mess that was 4 i really doubt she could pull such numbers. but when you think of it It's not that much, because Gaga had 100k pre orders... It's the same like Bey's Instant 80k ... at least 80% of Gaga's pre orders were going to be bought in the first day of sales ... + some people from the GP would've also buy the album then and here we go 80-100k the first few hours .. then It's harder to maintain the sales . The songs are catchy because of the producers and songwriters.. and she always has at least 1 more person with whom she writes her lyrics ... I have better lyrics than most of Katy's songs to be honest ... And Of course I am not saying Katy does nothing .. I just think that Beyonce is working harder ... and I don't know why u don't like her, but yes her greatness is really big. . . I mean one of the best vocalists, definitely the best dancer out of the pop girls .. She is insanely beautiful ... what's there to even dislike ?Her personality. She believes on the one and only God, money. Everyone cares about money but it seems that Beyonce can never have enough. She doesn't care if she will do more commercials than songs, if she will promote her own child to the media a million times and whenever its needed like its a gadget, IF it is truly her child. She doesn't care to promote her relationship with Jay-Z with every way possible as she promotes her mighty empire. It took precise planning, tons of money and stealth like dsitrubution. Also, there's a difference between caring about the charts and sales and WRITING for the charts. What is it that you don't get about that? Gaga doesn't write for the charts. Look at her music, lyrics, choice of collabs and producers! That much should be really obvious. you are really right tbh .. I mean Bey have on her album Jay Z, Drake and Frank Ocean Gaga have T.I. I just checked now, post Beyonce, and ARTPOP is now 16 and PRISM is 42. Gaga is doing fine. it will be slow and steady, because she has lots of great songs to extend the era. DWUW video and Voice will boost it into top 10, and hopefully will hold through the holidays, and then the Rick Ross song will hopefully drop in the new year and vault it up again, hopefully top 3 (maybe 1???). But then G.U.Y. and or Gypsy are waiting to slay and take us through the new year until C2C is released. I think her sales will stay pretty steady and at the end of it all people will praise her longevity and it will finally get the respect it deserves. In a way, this will be like Gaga's "Teenage Dream", which opened below expectations, but then lasted longer than expected to, with a string of strong songs (although, it obvs won't repeat TD's #1 record-breaking feat). Also, it's pretty much impossible to not compare ARTPOP and prism because of the way the media positioned it as a dual, and the timing of all the singles, but in a way they really do appeal to different segments of the pop market. Katy has always been very kid/mom friendly, and gaga has been older/edgier, and that divide has only been increased with their new albums. Katy's album isn't even parental advisory, while TD was. So Prism is benefiting from all the moms who are buying it for their very young children, and gaga has none of that market. I actually feel bad at all the katy hate on here, because i love katy too. TD was one of the best albums ever, and while I don't think prism is as good, its still very good. But I just love Gaga the most, and I think she's totally gets me, and I love her eccentricity and i LOVE her songs, and Katy's songs in comparison are solid pop but just not as adventurous. Yes but he have a point .. Everytime a piano ballad is released It's considered a real music.. which is a complete BS And the same goes for R&B to some extend ...
