He has hired a few sing a song writers that just do what they supposed to do, write their songs. As soon as Avicii likes a song enough to work with he straight away gets the rights for the song. Which means that the writer/singer is not allowed to use em further. In the case of Wake me Up and the other one, he made a dance song first, getting his beats in and scored. Now he releases them in their original form and cashes them moneys a 2nd time without having to do ****, the song was ready anyway just waiting for a good moment to release to make more money, stop with the sourceless conspiracy theories.. avicii came up with the melody, and when time was ready for the lyrics he contacted aloe blacc who did what he was asked to. nothing shady about it Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Scissor Sisters and Mika are other examples. Even Kylie early in her career. Even after breaking the US, Ellie Golding's 2nd album sales started slow and struggled for awhile.
