If it wasnt for Xtina the song would never be a hit!

Christina heard the song on "Dancing with the stars" (it was played during a dance). She called them and said she would like to be a part of it.

Called them to The Voice to perform it for the first time, called them to the AMAs.

The same can be said for the other members of the band tho.. If It wasn't for "A great big world"  Chrisitna wouldn't have the song to go top 10 ...  They wrote the song, they produced It... Then Christina just laid some vocals ...

Fact Is that the song Is a duet and Christina have yet to have a top 10 by her name a lone since 5 years or even more ..

Not commercials saving this era

Commercials have a HUGE impact. They introduced songs such as We Are Young, Too Close and We Can't Stop to the masses and gave those songs giant head starts. The song Brave is being helped by a phone commercial at the current time. There is no doubt that Applause got a very nice boost from the hamster commercial!

The most important aspect of convincing people to buy a song is that they have to hear it several times, even a part of it. It could take a month or two to hear a song 10 times on the radio, but you could see the Kia commercial 10 times in a week or two on TV. Then, you hear that song once on radio and next thing you know, you are headed to iTunes to download it. :)

It's the ultimate marketing tool to reach a wide range of potential music buyers! Better than any video or promo spot out there!

Congrats to Christina even though it is STILL a duet and not a solo top 10.

How many top 10's does she have?

Is there a possibility for Gaga to perform at The Voice?

In the back of my mind, I was wondering if that was why a couple of things were cancelled in Europe.

VforVendetta

Oh I agree but I can see why some people find this unfair is all....

As I said in my comment he's made several of these vids and a few have gone viral but it's not the artists popularity that caused that to happen, it was his. Ofc if he had just parodied some indie artist it wouldn't have gone viral but many watching it will most likely not care about Cyrus much.

But as I said it's not a big deal it's just a pretty loose rule obviously.

It doesn't matter actually who brought the views. Since the song is getting the popularity it deserves the streaming it gets on the charts.

xauhhuxa yea sure, then why Isn't Born This Way 70M views like Wreckin Ball ?  You realize that 10M views won't push a song to top 10,  and If Wrecking Ball Is number 1 on hot 100 then It has a good reason for that ... I watched the video when It was just posted and It already had 300k views, and the next morning I went to class and my classmates were watching the same video and It was already at 7M views just In 1 ****ing night ...

Well the first one to go viral was Telephone, that one made his channel famous but it seems to have been taken down so I have no idea how many views he had. then there was call me maybe ofc.

This one of course has a much higher production value and is far more controversial because of how controversial the original video is. He is allot more famous now than he was when he made the earlier vids so his views are gonna go up. It does not necessarily have all that much to do with cyrus.

I'm not saying it has nothing to do with her and I don't have a problem with this but I can see the arguments against it.
