StrawberryBlond 14,276
No Atlantic City.. Really?! -_- Atlantic City is one of the smallest cities in the state. I'd rather she went to a more populated city and tried one of the bigger arenas. The thing with long arena dates in Australia i that people see atleast have of the shows in a city, ie. one person will go to 3 out of four shows in sydney, which is why they do lots in a city. Pink could've done stadium shows here but only one in each city, 5 stadium only shows with maybe 200,000 tickets at best doesn't sound as good as 46 arena shows with 593817 tickets (235000 just for melbourne) sounds, looks and money wise is heaps more impressive. Besides, Australia is far away from most concertish countries, pink had to charter a 747 jet just to bring everything over, so they need to be able to make money back after transporting everything (I'm researching it, and it costs a lot) The UK on the other hand, i believe a mix of stadium and arena shows are the way to go, but either way you look at it, people are either going to all go for the stadium shows and the arena ones not be very succesful, or everyone goes for arena shows and another gets added and then a stadium won't be filled and becomes less impressive. The only way i think she could be successful would be to just do a separate UK leg (like Pink in Australia) and keep adding more and more dates until it is absolutely done, but if lots of arenas get done, there is a chance to break something again which would be disastrous. If one London and a Manchester stadium date were announced, along with "more dates across the UK later in the tour" marketed in a fashion like that, so all the London and Manchester people get tickets for the stadiums everyone else can then wait for arena dates or if the demand isn't there, add another London date or be done and move to the next country Why would she sell less tickets if she swapped the arenas for stadiums? I know it's more money to ship the supplies over but she could make up for that by charging stadium prices. People won't go for stadiums just because they're stadiums. They'll go to whichever venue is closest to them. I think it would be a really bad idea to put out UK dates and add more and more as they sell. That annoys the fans. It's different if she's adding more dates for the same venues in the same cities but if she keeps on adding new venues and new cities...it'll be annoying if you booked tickets far away just in case they all sold out and just in case no further dates were added, and then she later announces a gig in your city. With BTWB, I was actually hoping she wouldn't announce further dates near me so my trip to London would be completely justified. You have to realise just how hard it is for us Brits to travel around our country. I realise that she could make a point of saying that there'll be more dates later, but this can have a really negative effect. It might mean lots of fans won't go to the Manchester and London stadiums because they're choosing to wait until dates in their region are announced so they can afford it, meaning the stadium dates flop. And also, like I said before, the public will move on in her break. She did several UK legs for the MB but that was when she was at the height of her fame. She's not that type of artist who commands public attention 24/7 anymore. The UK public have a very short attention span when it comes to music and are always hopping on the bandwagon of whatever's most relevant. They're not going to even register that Gaga's come back to do extra dates. which is why taylor swift is all over the news for being the first woman since madonna to do stadiums in australia! Exactly. If Gaga had done that with TBTWB (she did have the demand to do a 100% stadium leg), she would have been the one making history. I'm hoping that Taylor doing this has inspired Interscope to give Gaga that push to do the same. Artists tend to follow each others tour schedules and pick up on new venue trends. What with Taylor and 1D planning this, it might well start something.

Dates are organised with a second in mind or not and only announce one first to see if there is demand for another. Its not as if they are just deciding on the spot to add another and another
