Never been a big deal for me, but yes I see her point.

I blame all this photoshop crap for young people's obsession in looking perfect etc.

It's the fashion industries fault for that though.  All the images coming from the fashion industry bombarding people are completely unrealistic.  "perfect" has been defined as an unattainable image.  Gaga's Vogue cover was ridiculous because no real woman would ever look like that.  They made her into a "fashion illustration" of a fictitious female form.

I get where she's coming from, but to say this after they've given you an award is meh. Plus, when is she going to start taking action? Her promo pics are always photoshopped.

I think the difference to her is that she was on the cover for being "Woman of the Year" and she felt that people looking up to her should see a real representation of her face.

Her promo pictures she probably has fixed because they don't look like she imagined

Pure Adrenaline

But remember when she told people to take down the unretouched TechHaus chair pic :udidnt:

What a hypocrite :udidnt:

she tweeted the pic herself later when she posted another unretouched pic the one with the arm she then post on twitter "How do u like ART touched on untouched" so I think all this was kind of purpose just like the leak of Aura, the leak of Judas etc.etc.etc.etc. :awkney:

Re the unretouched tweet, I always thought she did that accidentally-on-purpose.

Exactly my thoughts.... I know what she said came from a good place, but the Inez + Vinoodh shoot was also Photoshopped as f***

Photoshop is a good thing. However when done in excess to the point where you're moving bones around, it's a bit much.

I see her point, but the industry won't change anytime soon

Willy Wonka

She urged the young people listening to "fight back against the forces that say you have to be beautiful,"

What an unfortunate and terrible thing to say.

She should be advocating different types of beauty, not enforcing the media's interpretation of "beauty".
