I graduated college back in 2011 as a registered recovery worker, its basically a d--g & alcohol counselor before the title "counselor" and after essays and essays, I still was never able to find out how marijuana became addicting never it didn't really affect at all the way hard d--gs affect you, I never knew why people made it such a big deal. You don't really have withdrawals, just cravings. It can't kill you, you can't overdose on it.

Before anyone attacks me and says what do I know

I've been battling with addiction to c-----e and speed laced ecstasy pills since 2008, I'm clean now, but comparing weed to those d--gs is like comparing a goldfish to a shark.

I just think weed isn't much of a big deal, there's really nothing to worry about, though it is known as a gateway d--g. It definitely wasn't the first d--g I tried though.

Yes, but don't forget that she's a singer and weed (or just smoke in general) kills your vocal cords. So it is a big deal when she smokes 24/7 just for fun. Everything is for people, but just till they have control over it.

Maybe you can't get physically addicted to weed but you can get emotionally addicted to it. If someone feels the need to constantly be high, regardless of what substance they are using, there is something wrong in their life.

Good for her. I'm glad she's the soberest shes been. But being on tour for as long as she was I can't blame her for clinging to weed. It's a great comfort when your down, tired, worn out. And then she was suddenly not touring anymore after the hip injury and all she had with her from touring was weed. Its like having a summer vacation from school, constantly smoking all summer, and suddenly school is back in session but you have to find the time to do that thing. Whether it's smoking or exercise, or writing, etc.

But she still drinks, still smokes. The title of the thread should be changed. And honestly I don't think anybody is ever that honest about their habits as they're going on. Only the people who participate with them are let in on the use.

No one ever goes to rehab for smoking cannibis... Some people need to face reality. Smoking weed isnt any different than having a glass of fine. I was worried about her c-----e habits though but I thought she admitted that she was off that for a long time?

Idk how I forgot about her vocal cords!

Actually you're right, I forgot how different disorders can play in with addiction, like her being depressed and such, smoking weed and taking whatever pain killer they gave her for the surgery too

I don't know... 15??  Holy Smokes!  It kind of made it sound like she's still puffing the magic dragon, just not 15 of them.  I totally understand that it is not as harmful or addictive as harder d--gs, but it still isn't exactly health food.  I don't remember her ever saying she used d--gs as a way to escape the s-xual demands that were placed on her - I'm not surprised but I swear a long time ago I read where she did that on purpose as a way of creative expression and if her inspirations did it, she wanted to try to get the same "place" they were at, creatively.

She can do what she wants in private, I just don't like it when she is seemingly boastful about it and blatantly does it in public (like on stage), when she knows there are younger people out there.  I believe pot can stunt the brain growth, esp. for young users.  A million times said, she doesn't have to be a role model, but we all have a duty to act responsibility, including her.

Are you talking about the quote where she said something like, "I wanted to f*ck myself up like Bowie and just go for it"? I think she was talking about how she wanted to see the dark side of life so she could have a more full view of the world, a wider perspective, which would allow her to be more creative.
