US Charts Discussion - 'ARTPOP' debuts at #1

Arturo

Gagas biggest problem is that she has become a too serious person. People don't care about ART etc, they just want fun music. Katt has always been about JUST THAT.

Miley's new image/music is timeless, it's outrageous, crazy and somehow fun.

If Gaga wants to get serious, she can. But this is the respond she'll get.

Now really? It's a bit too early to be saying that.

This isn't true. They don't hate her. They just don't care about her anymore. Clearly, people like her music, they just don't feel the need to buy it

This gif is hillarious. Gaga will be playimg for crowds this size next year.

Yup. She was fun and quirky during The Fame/TFM eras and she just let the music speak for itself.

My friend was just saying to me yesterday how she's not really looking forward to Gaga on SNL because she is always serious all the time.

I just wish Gaga would drop this art **** and just play and sell her music. It's so hard to support her sometimes when she does and says stupid things

That's the reason, I think :/

BTW album wasn't the problem, it was her image. And now with the ART etc.. I mean that's why the majority says "TFM IS BEST" it was because she was new, fun and just Gaga.

I'm not going to diss her personally or her love for art. It's her career and she needs to do what makes her happy.

But with that comes consequences, and having a whole album cycle of darkness and preaching about what you support and then disappearing for over a year will have BIG consequences. I'm sure they planned for it, but judging by the numbers, they didn't understand the magnitude of her decline due to her more niche market focus in 2011.

What's done is done, hopefully the bad publicity doesn't hurt DWUWs momentum and she can ride into another radio hit after this rather embarrassing next week or so.

Whispering

What is sad is how this wi affect gaga emotionally. She is really fragile and a little insane.

After listening to the Howard Stern interview, I completely disagree. There's a very good chance that Gaga knew these types of numbers were coming when she gave that interview and she was in a place that wasn't fragile or emotionally unstable.

She sounded mature, happy, grounded and her priorities are in the right place.

Some of her fans, on the other hand...

Give me a break. Fans that say she doesn't care :lmao: she only travels the entire world trying to push her music and tweets about all of her #1s

It's funny because not only have I argued with you on here on more than one occassion, but multiple people have, and it's because you are arrogant and cocky. Guess what, you are sitting there behind a computer screen just like everybody else.

Gaga didnt lose her talent, or her fans. So until you get that job offer to be a Music Label CEO, stop telling people how she should run her career like it's a fact.

If she wanted to come to your house and shlt on your porch, she could. And you'd probably be telling her she should have done more promotion before doing so.

I am ready for those low budget videos and intimate tours a la marina and the diamonds.

Oh god don't remind me that was so depressing.

Nah there's just a few bitter fans that still can't accept others of us have predicted this downfall for years now.

I thought she was very serious with TFM. TF was fun, easy breezy, and then she went dark and depressed during TFM. Just look at her interviews - she's hunched over and practically twitching during them lol.

And because of this, you...what...think your part of some sort of elite society of fans? 0_o

No **** she was gonna have a flop album. Everyone knew that. She was on the top for a long time, she had to come down sometime.

Bad said it best though....before, she just let the music speak for itself. Now she has to constantly bring up the fact that its art, and make us believe that it's art. When in reality, this is all pretty much simple fun dance music. I just wish she should perform and do her thing and be fun and happy and stop making herself appear holier than thou. People do not want to listen to her preach about anything anymore.

Tbh ARTPOP was always going to come across badly wasn't it and we should have known that. People don't understand the concept and it just sounds like a normal pop album and that annoys them because Gaga's making such a big deal about it.

I think once you get into the concepts it's kinda interesting and as a project i think it is ARTPOP but most people will not see that and most of the critics didn't, It would have got better reviews and maybe even sold better if it was called idk Mary Jane Holland?

People liked TFM so much because she let the music speak for itself. All she did was sing and perform her ass off. She made pop music fun. She made being weird fun. Now she's going way too deep into the art schitck and people are sick of it

I think what it is, based on majority of the reviews, is that she keeps rambling on about art, but she's making dance music about people retweeting her. What is artistic about that?
