Does anyone know about how much Perfume will sell?

Gaga's Perfume sold millions!

Oh, you mean the Britney song... :awkney:

I feel like I'm one of the few that wants Gypsy as a later single? Releasing it too soon doesn't make sense... It doesn't capture the essence of the album AT ALL. Just as TEOG should have been the last single, I feel the same about Gypsy.

I think we should chill out....Gaga obviously is not that thirsty for a huge debut.

And a lot of the promo still hasn't been announced, just like we knew nothing about Howard until it happened today.

She'll be fine, I think she can still debut with decent numbers & beat Em.

Arturo

Did we really flop in Canada?

Not necessarily.

Like the Roar/Applause situation, she's just going up against a monster seller. I doubt ARTPOP would be #2 in Canada if MMLP2 wasn't right under its tail.

Its going to be sad if she does.... Canada was the first to stan for her

Applause did well and DWUW is doing well in Canada.

She's not flopping.

Artistic single order doesn't make sense to me.

Singles are meant to be successful/promote the album. Waiting until the end of ARTPOP's chart run will damage Gypsy's performance potential, and it's arguably the most hit-ready song on the record.

In an ideal world, I'd like singles to be released creatively, but Gaga needs forward momentum again. That's why I think she should save songs like Aura and MANiCURE until the latter half of the chart run-If they're hits, great, but if they're not it won't be a big deal when she's already accumulated three or four radio smashes for the era.

I'm not ready for the hdd predictions tomorrow. How is she not gonna sell at least 375K with 7 days of sales? I'm assuming she sold at least 160K first day including preorders. It would make no sense if she didn't sell at least 215K the rest of the 6 days (~35K a day average). :fail:

Exactly, I dont see another single closing the era. Applause, but that was the first single. Gypsy is a very great era closer, and would smash now or whenever released, I'm not worried about it at all.

Releasing GUY, Sexxx Dreams, and Aura/Venus as singles before it makes more sense since they need the sales before the album sales slow down.

Meh, you go with the strongest singles first. It's nice to think "Oh, X song would be great as the album's last single" but it doesn't necessarily work that way. You really don't know how many singles an album is going to have, it's all dependent on how well the songs/album do.

Furthermore, it's a bad idea to save your strongest album track until the end, because who knows how the single(s) before that one will chart? If you release two songs that underperform/flop, it's going to be a lot harder for the next song to do well because it has very little momentum going for it, and momentum means a lot. Radio stations are going to be very quick to pick up the 3rd single if DWUW does well on radio like Applause did.

But if she picks stuff like Aura and Venus for her 3rd and 4th singles (which radio would be hesitant to support anyway I imagine) and they don't do very well, particularly on radio, a lot more stations are likely to take a "wait and see" attitude on subsequent singles, which makes for an unnecessary uphill battle.

Robotboy

some of you are so embarrassing :duck: her 3 months of preorder alone secured her #1 WW.

Remember that you are unique. Like everyone else.
