Most long-term solid album sellers rely on having strong albums and strong fanbases (and I suspect the low predictions under-estimate the degree Gaga has this). They don't need to run around doing crazy perfect promo to get repeat business from their fanbase. They don't need constant hype or single after single smashing radio either. Well it does seem absolutly weird to me that since Applause was released she only did 2 performances in America and 2 in the UK .......and that's it........ and only one TV performances when the album is released... :cry: So weird we went from BTW promo to this kind of promo. Magoo 6 Posted November 10, 2013 Share Posted November 10, 2013 PRISM wasn't charting in the top 100 of the best sellers of 2013 before the release The album start charting 2 days after the release So ARTPOP has possibly sold about twice what PRISM did in Amazon physical pre-orders pre-album-release and ARTPOP has about twice what PRISM did in itunes pre-orders. and ARTPOP has sold more on Amazon pre-release than Eminem's released album has Yet Billboard think ARTPOP will only sell a weeny bit more than PRISM - am I missing something?
