Japan aint there for DWUW. She shouldn't promote DWUW there, that'd be disastrous.

How do you know that? The song is doing ok on iTunes.

If We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together managed to go platinum there i dont see how DWUW couldnt.

The song is #26 there, without any promo. It could be a hit there. It just needs a good performance from her, I hope.

And Applause is still #16 without any promo either. And We Are Never Getting Back Together is still Top 20 (#6 actually) after a yearof slaying.

We Are Never Getting Back Together is still #6 there, that song is huge. DWUW simply has that urban/R&B vibe that Japan likes much than let's say Gypsy or Venus.

Do What U Want seems to be secured with two major promo events for the next two weeks (inb4 she performs Dope and Venus at SNL :derpga:  ). We're likely to see some major digital gains for the track, although with this week's speed of her radio updates she'll be just around No.15 on Pop Radio. So her chart performance will be driven more by sales and streaming. So when do you think is the best time to premiere the music video, knowing that it's likely to generate lost of streaming for her (inb4 age restricted :derpga: ) and thus push her higher on the HOT 100?

She may premiere the music video at some talk show while she is in the UK for the Jingle Bell Ball. The song might climb to somewhere around the top 10 on US Pop Radio by then, and her top 10 position on Pop Radio, strong sales and healthy streaming will likely generate the peak position for the song

If you hang out with Madonna stans you probably get tons of misinformation about Gaga.

Some way some Monsters try to explain away Katy's singles success as a matter of discounts and remixes done as excuses for her fans to buy more copies when airplay is high. But actually only LFN got #1 via a discount.

Hey what's the deal with your avatar do u love kylie or is it a dig at kylie?

I think that the video should be done in the best way possible for a #2 or #1 peak. How?

1. Payola for the bigger radio stations to put it in PR the week of the video release.

2. Promo (let's say AMAs and Ellen?)

3. Video getting some more hype, this way fans will be more likely to watch it.

4. VEVO Banners, video as commercial before video starts. It worked for DOPE, it will certainly work with DWUW.

This way it could get a #1 peak, if, let's say:

250k sales

10 mil US based streams

100 mil AI.

Hopefully The Monster won't get a video release the same week :rip: imagine...

This flop is unbearable tbh.

I mean less sales than PRISM?

Embarrassing to say the least

Why is it embarrassing it's only embarrassing if you let it be? Just because it sells less does it mean it's a worse album. I love heaps of albums which haven't even entered the USA top 200!

Music Video .. I think It'd be the best If she releases It between 20th - 30th ... I mean If the Performance at the AMAs Is a bit controversial and make some buzz (R Kelly will be there) It'd be better for the video to come a few days later which means maybe Wednesday 27th ..  IDK .. I think next week Is a bit early for It but who knows ...

I'd still stick with the Post-AMA week, a period when sales boosts for the songs which were performed are expected. And as I've said in the past, DWUW's radio presence should have grown already by that time. Hence, with ample radio support and at least decent sales surge, then that's the best time to premiere the music video and gain further streaming points. A higher chart performance of DWUW it would (and should) be.

I have been saying this forever that the video should come after AMAs. the performance streaming along with video streaming and sales boost plus radio build up by that time would be PERFECT!

Cheeses Rice, Katys EMA performance was amazing :wtf:

I'm gonna need Gaga to get out of the Seashells and plaid and blow me away like that

She needs to release the video on November 25th !

1 day after the AMAs - perfect !

I'm hoping she puts on a GREAT AMA performance

none of this is going to happen. (At least not in 2013 for the radio peak)
