qoqo 4,108 Posted March 13 Share Posted March 13 almost 6 months past its release, what is your relationship with this album now? when it was released i thought it was a complete mess and by far her worst work, but like always she proved me wrong and the songs managed to really grow on me over time right now i'd say this is how i would rank them 1. The Fate Of Ophelia (10/10) (what did she put in that song??) 2. Elizabeth Taylor (9/10) 3. Father Figure (8.5/10) 4. Actually Romantic (8.5/10) (i initially thought this was the last nail in the coffin for her but now i'm kind of obsessed with it) 5. Opalite (8/10) 6. CANCELLED! (8/10) (a musically-perfect pop song with some truly unfortunate lyrics, could have been a 10) 7. Wood (7.5/10) and the songs i don't listen to 8. Ruin The Friendship (7/10) 9. Strangely enough, my favs were definitely different on the first few listens, for example I didn’t care for Honey first but now I really like it. Agunimon 466 Posted March 14 Share Posted March 14 (edited) Her absolute worst album. I despised it upon first listen. I actually recall streaming 143 to cleanse my ears I thought so poorly of it. Since then, I have come around to a number of tracks, but I listen to albums as whole bodies of work and I still hate more than half of the album so I do not return to this album. The only thing I can say is I am grateful that it came out after Tortured Poets because a lot of people found new appreciation in that album, which is by far my absolute favorite album she's put out and one of my favorites of all time. My ranking is: Father Figure > Honey > Elizabeth Taylor > The Life of a Showgirl > Wood > Wish List > Cancelled > The Fate of Ophelia > Opalite > Eldest Daughter > Actually Romantic > Ruin the Friendship Edited March 17 by Agunimon 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
